Modulus of Elasticity
of comprising wires =
20,000 kgf/mm2
For steel wires and strands,
the difference between the
initial and final moduli
of elasticity is negligible;
the same value should be
considered for both cases.

Notes:
To obtain the electrical resistances
of zinc-coating class B for types EBB
and BB, multiply the figures
in the table by factors 0.98 and 0.97,
respectively.
To obtain breaking loads in kgf, divide
the figures (N) by 9.81.
Coefficient of linear
expansion = 11.5 x 10-6 (C-1)
Basic Characteristics
Zinc-Coated Wires
and Strands
for Electrification and
Communication
Wire strands are packed in 90-180-kg
rolls and wounded on wooden reels
enclosed by wood strips and reinforced
by steel straps. Standard identification
tags indicate product type, number,
and length.

(ACSR)
(Counterpoise)
Durable and resistant 7-wire strands with double
galvanizing, zinc-coating classes 1 and 2 (ABNT)
and A and B (ASTM) conforming to ABNT NBR 5909
and ASTM A-475. Used for staying transmission pylons,
posts, chimneys, and other vertical structures.
Also used to hold communication cables and electrical
conductors, in addition to grounding transmission lines
(counterpoise) as a substitute for zinc-coated wires.
