Abstract
A review of energy management system is a technique
used to achieve proper ratio to maintained on the supply
side (Electricity board) and consumer side (End user).
The paper suggests that direct load control, interruptible
load control, time of utility, are main techniques for
managing the load on the supplier side. The techniques
are normally designed by the supplying authority and
implemented by the consumer. Load management is a
very necessary technique to achieve efficient Energy
Management System (EMS). Analyzing power factor
and techniques to achieve unity power factor (PF) ratio
are proposed.

The
energy
management
system
techniques
implemented by supplier or consumer side have been
reviewed. The Energy management on the suppler side
is normally performed for the benefit of the power
generation & Distribution Company but the necessary
actions are taken on the consumer side. The of EMS
used on the suppler side are not profitable for the
consumer side i.e. it does not provide opportunities for
many customers to plan for supply interruption)
7. Discussion
8. Conclusion
In this paper, electrical load management techniques on
the supply side and demand side have been reviewed. On
the supply side, this review found that there are three
main methods used for load management i.e. direct load
control, interruptible load control and time of use
(TOU). These methods were developed on the supply
side and implemented on the demand side, aiming at a
reduction of system peak demand and improving the
reliability of power supply.
