Do not reverse the power leads. Doing so will cause severe damage to the
equipement. Always check to make sure that the power leads are connected to
the right polarity as marked. Ensure that the power cable is the last cable to be
connected.

MOUNTING THE UNIVERSAL BRACKET AND VALVE
1.
The bracket mounts to the right side of the machine directly above the
exhaust pipe.

The flat universal bracket is mounted above the exhause pipe using the
existing exhaust support bolts.

The Raven valve is then attached to the mounting bracket using the
provided mounting bolts (as sown in picture).

Routing the
Hydraulic
Hoses
Access to the steering orbital is located on the front left side of the cab.
2.
The ports are marked on the orbital. Label hoses before disconnecting
them.
3.
The Pressure and tank hoses are removed and re-installed with a #8
ORFS run tee.
4.
The supplied pressure hose (P/N 214-1000-279) is routed under the cab
and the 90 end is connect to the branch fitting of the tee on the pressure
port.
5.
The other end of the pressure hose is connected to the P port on the
valve using a supplied #6 JIC 90 fitting.

The supplied tank hose (P/N 214-1000-276) is routed under the cab and
the 90 end is connected to the branch fitting of the tee on the tank port.

The other end of the tank hose is connected to the T port on the Raven
valve using a #6 JIC 90 fitting.

The Left Steer hose is disconnected from the orbital and the free end of
the CB to Left Steer hose is connected to the left port on the orbital.

The Right Steer hose is disconnected from the orbital and the free end of
CB to Right Steer hose is connected to the orbital.
Counter Balance valve is plumbed inline with the shown left and right steer
hoses between tess and steer orbital.

NOTE: This figure shows the machine plumbed without the counterbalance. It is necessary to use the provided Counter Balance valve.

Attach the provided #8 ORFS run tees to the ends of the original left and
right steer hoses using the straight fitting of the tee.
2.
Connect these run tees to the ORFS ports on the counter balance. The
Left Steer hose and fitting connects to the opposite side of A; port. The
Right Steer hose and fitting connects to the port opposite the B port.
3.
Route the A Port to Left Steer hose (P/N 214-1000-277) up under the
cab to the counter balance. Connect the 90 end of the hose to the branch
fitting of the tee on the original left steer hose.
4.
Route the B Port to Right Steer hose (P/N 214-1000-278) up under the
cab to the counter balance. Connect the 90 end of the hose to the branch
fitting of the tee on the original right steer hose.
5.
Connect the supplied left steer hose to the A port on the Raven valve and
the right steer hose to the B port on the Raven valve, both using a 90 JIC
fitting.

To install the LS-PV hose, it is necessary to remove the original Load Sense
hose, which connects the Priority valve to the steer orbital.
NOTE: The Priority valve is located below the front right side
of the cab corner. The Load Sense port is on the left side of the
orbital.

Route the LS-Steer hose (P/N 214-1000-274) from the Raven valve to the
orbital going between the cab and exhaust.

Connect the LS-Steer hose to the LS-Steer port on the SmarTrax Valve.

Connect the Pressure Switch directly to the PS port on the SmarTrax Valve.

MOUNTING THE STEERING POSITION SENSOR
1.
The Steering Position Sensor (SPS) mounts on either side of the front
axle.
2.
One end of the SPS mounts to the outer end of the steering tie rod by the
ball joint using the supplied hose clamps and mounting tab.

The opposite end of the SPS mounts to the bolt on the top of the
differential housing.
4.
Part of the supplied bracket can be used to make a small mounting tab
for the SPS.

START-UP PROCEDURES
After installing the SmarTrax on your machine, always follow these start-up
procedures.
Make sure the Steering Position Sensor does not over-extend or overcompress when turning the wheels.
Turn the wheels fully from side to side numerous times to remove air
from the hydraulic system.
Adjust the pressure switch to the most responsive setting. Refer to the
Universal Kit Manual for instructions on this.

What Does this Warranty Cover?
Bring the defective part and proof of purchase to your Raven Dealer.
If your Dealer agrees with the warranty claim, the Dealer will send the
part and proof of purchase to their distributor or to Raven Industries
for final approval.
Raven Industries will not assume any expense or liability for repairs
made outside our facilities without written consent. Raven Industries
is not responsible for damage to any associated equipment or
products and will not be liable for loss of profit or other special
damages. The obligation of this warranty is in lieu of all other
warranties, expressed or implied, and no person or organization is
authorized to assume any liability for Raven Industries.
Damages caused by normal wear and tear, misuse, abuse, neglect,
accident, or improper installation and maintenance are not covered
by this warranty
