Introduction
TJ1400-P is a compact packet aggregation solution
which is well suited for deployment in the edge and
access part of a packet transport network. It
supports full PTN feature set enabling a service
provider to provide end-to-end pseudo-wire and
Ethernet multipoint services.
TJ1400-P can serve as a cell-site transport network
element backhauling 4G services, and can be used
to build aggregation rings of 10Gbps. It can be used
to provide GigE enterprise services and L2 VPN
services with advanced QoS support.
Key Features
MPLS-TP : MPLS label based connection oriented
Ethernet is becoming an important requirement for
scaling the network for millions of subscribers and
thousands of services today. TJ1400-P provides
MPLS-TP (transport profile) based pseudowires for
traffic enginered traffic flows on trunks, which leads
to better control over the packet traffic resulting in
a more optimized network. This is key to lowering
capex in todays cost competitive environments.
Packet Synchronization: TJ1400-P also supports
SyncE and 1588v2 for distribution of
Synchronization information over pure packet
networks. This is critical for deployment in mobile
networks especially for LTE, where voice is
packetized but synchronization is critical for cell
handoff and for ensuring jitter-free voice calls.
Circuit Emulation: As networks move from TDM
towards packet, a few TDM circuits are expected to
be required for a long time due to legacy reasons.
Its not cost effective to maintain an entire TDM
network for this small amount of traffic. TJ1400-P
supports SAToP and CESoPSN for carrying this TDM
traffic over a pure packet infrastructure
Ethernet OAM: Allows real-time monitoring of endto-end circuits, connections or trunks, enabling quick
detection of faults and isolating of faults to a
particular subnet, trunk, link or node. TJ1400-P
supports BFD based Fault OAM and ping/traceroute
at tunnel/pseudowire level. It supports
Y.1731/802.1ag based CFM OAM (Port level down
MEP) and Y.1731 PM counters
Hierarchical Quality of Service: Allows service
provider to control bandwidths and latencies on a per
service and per application level. Thus, within a
single service, bandwidth, latency and reliability
guarantees can be provided per application. By
mixing and matching these parameters, new revenue
generating services can be offered or existing services
can be differentiated.
