Your Privacy
Boeing Defence Australia (BDA) is committed to ensuring that Personal and Sensitive information you provide
to BDA is managed in compliance with its Privacy Policy and the Australian Privacy Principles contained in the
Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) (Act).
Personal and Sensitive Information have the same meanings as those in the Act.
Our Privacy Policy is available for viewing on the BDA website.
Collection of information
BDA collects, uses, stores or discloses Personal and Sensitive information during the recruitment process
where necessary to meet specific and identifiable job requirements of the role for which you have applied,
work, health and safety considerations, defence security clearance requirements, export compliance and for
immigration processes in the case of international applications. This information may include, but is not limited
to, contact details, opinions of others about your work performance, work experience and qualifications,
aptitude or psychometric test results, medical examination results to determine fitness for work, health
information and passport and visa information. Following the conclusion of the recruitment process, if BDA no
longer requires your Personal or Sensitive information for your application, it will be destroyed.
Personal information that we disclose
BDA will only use or disclose your Personal and/or Sensitive information for the purpose it was collected unless:
1. You have expressly or impliedly consented to its use or disclosure for another purpose, or
2. The use/disclosure is related to the purpose of collection and you would reasonably expect us to use or
disclose it in such a way, or
3. BDA is required by law or are otherwise compelled to disclose such information.
Third parties to whom BDA may disclose your Personal or Sensitive information include but are not limited to,
medical/health service providers, export agencies, foreign immigration agencies or departments, defence
security organisations (including Australian or foreign governments), and psychometric service providers. BDA
may also be required to transfer that information to related bodies corporate overseas, in particular to BDA or
The Boeing Company in the United Sates of America.
BDA will ensure that all reasonable steps are taken to protect this information from misuse, loss or unauthorised
access and it has in place procedures to address these issues.
Access to your Personal Information
If you wish to access the Personal or Sensitive information that BDA holds about you, or you have any
complaints/concerns about our management of that information, please contact:
