The problem of the Grudge Informer:
Analysis
The problem of the grudge informer proposes a situation in
which a former government called The Purple Shirts implemented
rules and laws that, among other things, implied that anyone who did
not agree with the government would be killed, and it would be the
grudge informers the ones to tell the government. This government was
overthrown, but the grudge informers are still on the streets and have
not been fairly judged regarding their actions, which ended several lives
unfairly. The new government will try to end this problem; five deputies
give their proposals to deal rightfully these people.
In the proposition of the fourth deputy, he states that even though
the grudges crimes were at the time legal, that does not mean they are
free and will not be justly judged, given that, in many ways, The Purple
Shirt philosophy perverted the administration of justice from its normal
aims and uses. He also disqualifies the precedent proposals by saying
that not judging these informers would cause tremendous chaos and
that by not acting they would be perpetuating the former governments
philosophy. The deputy introduces several crimes committed by the
informers where people were killed just because of the informers
murderous intent, and because of it he makes another point to dismiss
other proposals.
According to the 4th deputy, the solution to this problem is that it
would be completely necessary to create a special statute directed
toward the problem with a complete comprehended background of the
relevant facts, and as consequence, provide the appropriate penalties to
all of these informers. The deputy also states that a very important part
of the process will be to create a definite legal meaning to the word
grudge in order judge as fairly as possible.
Finally, he says that even though this will not be easy it is necessary that
justice comes for the grudge informers for their new type of government
to function, otherwise, they would be acting like the Purple Shirts.
In conclusion, if I were the minister of Justice of this country and
had to choose one of the five different proposals, I would choose the
proposal of the deputy number four. He gave the strongest points
regarding the problems it would cause if we acted another way, and he

also stated that the Purple Shirts were not lawful, in which I agree. I
understand that law should be just, and given that the last regime
wasnt, I dismiss the other proposals. I believe that the 4th deputy has
the proposal that is fair to all the people of the country.
