Calculation methodology
This particular lighting scheme calculation was undertaken for a Hotel Lobby with a 3D model supplied by the
client. This is the most popular method of establishing the quantity of light fittings required within the Hotel Lobby,
the illumination level achieved and the lighting layout. The method is a series of calculations that uses horizontal
luminance criteria to establish a uniform lighting layout for the hotel lobby.
We use computer software created specifically for lighting design to make our calculations. The lighting design
calculation is achieved using published photometric data from manufacturers we have specified for the Lobby.
Using our Lighting Calculation knowledge and our technical and design skills, we were able to illuminate the Hotel
Lobby to the correct levels for an inviting entrance to the Hotel.

FRIEZE LIGHTING
Surface Mounted Light:
In the centre of this view at roof level, we have softly washed the plaster
frieze, picking out the shape, forms and the texture of the frieze.
UPLIGHTING FACADE
Surface Mounted Uplight:
As we move up the building facade the balconies which are a more
intimate area we have allowed for wall mounted up lights placed on the
columns, that will blend into the architecture and gently scallop the facade
and hit the top the capital of the columns, thus discreetly bringing to life
the detailed architecture.
