A CIPD qualified HR Generalist with over 25 years experience. Confident
in all aspects of Human Resources Management. Extensive experience of

HR Manager
This is a stand-alone role responsible for 3 sites within the UK, with a total
of 450 permanent employees. Sole responsibility for all HR matters,
including advising line managers on employment law and best practice,
undertaking disciplinary and grievance hearings and advising on legal
issues and application of Company policy. Redundancy handling,
recruitment, preparing contracts of employment, maintaining HR records,
both manually and on a computerised HR System known as Access Select.
Maintaining and updating the Company HR Manual. Keep up to date with
new employee legislation and update policies, handbook and contracts
accordingly.
Liaise with the Payroll Manager and ensure he has the necessary
information for any payroll changes. Administration of the Companys
medical centre and liaising with the Occupational Health Nurse. Undertake
attendance management analysis, and meet with employees where
necessary. Conduct exit interviews with key staff, and ensure all leaving
staff have completed necessary clearance before exiting the Company.
Key member of the Companys Joint Consultative Committee. Member of
the Senior Management team contributing to all areas of the Company
with suggestions for improvements.

The Main purpose of this role was to steer the HR function within the
College. Writing and launching HR policies, developing the support staff
appraisals system and working with the senior management on acquiring
new members of staff. Providing operational advice on employee
relations issues such as absence, disciplinary and grievances to managers
at all levels. Undertaking CRB checks on all staff. Responsible for the pool
of temporary staff to ensure the smooth running of the College.

Managing the Companys HR function. designed and delivered a bespoke


appraisal scheme with the Advisory Conciliation and Arbitration Service
(ACAS). Was successful in securing substantial training grants from the
Surrey Training and Enterprise Council (TEC), and introduced training
initiatives including mentoring and financial management. This resulted
in line managers becoming responsible for budgets and accountable for
Company expenditure. Adjusted the salary review schedule to maintain
structured pay scales and equilibrium across all staff grades.
Administered monthly payroll and pension scheme, liaising with the
Company Accountants. Managing the recruitment process for beginning to
end, and offering guidance and advice to managers on Employee
relations.
