TEAMS ARE IN FULL SPIRIT BOTH IN PERTH AND LAHORE

Dear All,
There are two events planned for this week so mark your diary. 14 th November is the seniors
week while 15 th February is the Cricket match.
The Scrabble team from Pakistan is now on its way back and received recognition and praise
from everyone involved and interested in Scrabble. Similarly the musical legend Rahat Fateh Ali
Khan has also completed another successful series of hit shows around Australia.
Our Hon. Consul in Melbourne Ayesha Bux is busy in organising meetings with Pakistani business
women visiting Melbourne while a documentary movie on Malala Yousufzai will be screened in
two days around Australia.
A report from the High Commission of Pakistan is also included and everyone has appreciated
the provision of EFTPOS facilities at the Consulate General of Sydney.

TEAMS ARE READY

An AFP XI vs Pakistani (Perth) Community Invitational XI match is planned for Sunday 15 November,
McLean Oval, Floreat, the Perth edition of the Fayyaz Sumbal Cup. 12pm - 5pm.
The event will coincide with a similar match being played on the same weekend at the historic Lahore
Gymkhana to raise awareness for the Fayyaz Sumbal Foundation (www.fayyazsumbalfoundation.org).
This match will be played between the AFP social cricket team against a predominately Pakistani
origin team based in Western Australia. The idea is to raise awareness of the good relationship
between Australia and Pakistan through sport and to raise awareness for the plight of the many
police officers that are killed leaving families desperate to survive.

WOMEN ENTERPRENEURS

A Delegation of 13 Pakistani Women Entrepreneurs is visiting Melbourne from 15 to 20 November 2015.

They are hoping to meet people interested in Ladies garments, scarves, khussas, jewellery and other ladies
products.
Everyone is welcome to join this event and may express their interest in meeting with them. You can also propose

DEFENCE DAY CELEBRATION

Pakistan Defence Day Golden Jubilee celebrations were held in a dignified and impressive
ceremony at the New Chancery Building of the High Commission of the Islamic Republic of
Pakistan in Canberra.
The guest of honour representing the Chief of Defence Forces was Major General David T.
Mulhall. The other guests included Chief of Army, Gen Angus Campbell, representatives of the
diplomatic corps, parliamentarians, members of media, academia, intelligensia and
representatives of think tanks.
Speaking on the occasion, High Commissioner Mrs. Naela Chohan paid homage to the sacrifices of
the defence forces in guarding the motherland. She while emphasizing that civilian and military
leadership were on the same page to present requisite response to the unprecedented security
challenges, stressed the need for finding solution to long festering Kashmir dispute in accordance
with UNSC Resolutions for a durable peace in the region. In his remarks, Major
General David Mulhall spoke about the historical relationship between the two defence forces
and noted the extensive collaboration in the field of military training. Defence Adviser, Brigadier
Mohammad Asghar highlighted the success of Operation Zarb e Azab in rooting out terrorists, role
of Army in peace keeping efforts around the world and in helping countrymen in natural disasters.
The ceremony concluded with screening of a short movie reflecting Pakistan Armed Forces'
contribution in domestic, regional and global peace and stability, which was widely appreciated by
the audience.

PAKISTAN SUMMIT IN SYDNEY

RAISING FUNDS FOR A MOSQUE

Whoever built a mosque, Allah would build for him a similar place in Paradise (Bukhari - Book 1:
Volume 8: Hadith 441).
The Zubair Family based in Perth is raising funds towards completion of a mosque in Rawalpindi. They will be
traveling to Pakistan in four weeks and will be supervising the use of funds themselves. If anyone wants to
donate money this can be send directly into the account that has been opened for mosque.
