Friday Night Soup Supper
Everyone is invited to the UCC Lenten Soup Suppers which will
be held from 6:30-7:30pm Fridays during Lent starting Feb. 27th.
Come join us for a simple meal, a social justice message and
wonderful fellowship. Please bring a bowl and a spoon, and some
bread to share. We are in need of 3 or 4 cooks each week to
make a meatless soup, each preparing about 20-30 servings. If
you are interested in preparing a soup for one of the Fridays,
please contact me at tarazan_fox@yahoo.com
Mark Your Calendars—Communal Penance Service
A communal penance service with individual confessions will be
held on April 3rd at 7 pm at St. Austin’s Parish, one block west
of the UCC.

St. Austin’s Parish invites members of the UCC to join them on
their Christ Renews His Parish (“Chirp”) retreat. A men’s retreat

St. Austin’s will be hosting a six-week dialog series on
Wednesdays at 7 pm in Hecker Hall running until April 8th on
the topic of Awakening Faith—Is connection possible? Where
am I now in life? Where am I going? What do I really want?

Second Sunday of Lent
Rite of Sending & Rite of Election
Our prayers are with the nineteen members of the RCIA process
who celebrated the Rite of Sending at the 11:30 a.m. Mass last
Sunday, and the Rite of Election with Bishop Aymond last
Sunday afternoon. Now known as the Elect, Jonny Ahn, Jessica
Kaizer, Julia Kuo, Megan McSwain, Lillian O'Connor, Ducela
Phan, Scott Vanderpool and Annahita Varahrami will celebrate
the Sacraments of Initiation - Baptism, Confirmation and
Eucharist - at the Easter Vigil on April 11.
Also celebrating last Sunday in their recognition by Bishop
Aymond were candidates Natalie Carnine, Kris Carter, Victor
Chatman, Whitney Douglas, Erin Eastwood, Danielle Handsaker,
Bryan Hanus, Bobby Jenkins, John Kim, Rachel Vallejo and
Dung To. Already baptized, they will be celebrating their full
communion in the Catholic Church either at the Easter Vigil or
during the Easter Season through the Sacraments of
Confirmation and Eucharist.

entries for their video contest for college students. You are
invited to create a short video about their mission that one person

8 pm Mass attendees are no longer able to park in the lot at
the corner of 20th and Whitis. The only lot for the University
Catholic Center is the lot to our west between our building and
Dobie Mall.
University Graduate Students & Professionals- UGAP
invites all grad students and recently gradated young
adults to join us on Tuesdays at the UCC. For more
info contact Nate at UGAP@utcatholic.org. We
gather in the Atrium at 7 pm and move to the Mother
Teresa room at 7:30 pm.

Gay and Lesbian Support Group
With the encouragement and support of Bishop Aymond, the
UCC is forming a support group for Catholic students who
identify themselves as gay or lesbian. The purpose of this group
is to provide a safe and confidential place for these individuals to
meet for discussion, prayer and fellowship. For more
