1. How may people are there in the interview panel? Is there any general profile of the interview panel?
Interviews are taken by IIM Calcutta Professors. Only one word of caution - don't try fooling them.
2. Is there a time limit per interview?
Interviews can typically go on anywhere between 15-30 mins.
3. Is one required to bring proofs of all extra-curricular activities? What if one can not reproduce some?
Any significant accomplishment does require a proof. If you don't have one for any such accomplishment,
please do inform the office or the interviewing professor. If you are associated with any organization/non
profit, a letter or an email detailing your contribution would do.
4. I have been advised to keep answers short. Not going beyond a minute. Is it really the case? How can
one even introduce oneself within a minute (given that a candidate has atleast five years of work-ex).
Better to keep responses succinct and precise. There are no given rules as you mentioned for an
interview.
5. Do you have any idea of the ratio of interviews to converts?
Sorry, can't share this information.
Some specific questions are:
1. Do they ask these typical questions as 'Describe Yourself', 'Why MBA', 'Why IIMC',
'Strengths/weaknesses' etc? Please point out any other typical questions.
Yes, be prepared on these.
2. What level of understanding is required of the topics concerning economic current affairs?
A fair level of understanding. You should be aware of any major developments in the economic and
political landscape.
3. Do they ask questions from graduation subjects? And any questions from mathematics/statistics?
Depends on the interviewer and your luck!

2. I had my PGPEX interview at the IIMC campus today. It lasted all of 15 minutes, whereas
everyone before me had an at least 30 minutes interview.
3. The panel had 3 professors, A middle-age,homely, B senior,serious, C young to mid
age,friendly.
4. A asked for my file, B was reading my essays, C began tell me about yourself. I spoke for a
minute, and then asked him if he wanted to know anything specific.

B Do you smoke ? Are you aware of the health hazards? Then dont you have a problem
working for a tobacco client.
C Since you are IT enabling them, you are making them more profitable.
I stood my ground and said that I am working for my organization and not directly working
for this client.

C Tell us about problems you faced in the unusual incident.
