Cost Accounting is recognized as being essential to efficient cooperation of
business and industry. It was developed originally in manufacturing businesses to
satisfy managements need for product cost information. It shows what costs
were incurred and where and how these costs were utilized.
Lapid Wood Craft is an entity which manufactures caskets that is designed for
the encasement of human remains and is also a funeral service provider. This
documentation attempts to analyze the cost accounting system of this business.
It shows the detailed flow of production process and how each cost was
accounted for. This course requirement is prepared to familiarize the students
with the kind of business accounting they will be facing at some future time and
possibly give recommendations regarding the accounting system of the former.
