1. Abstract
This Application Note is intended to provide an
overview of reverse battery protection in
automotive applications. The pros and cons of
each solution will be discussed.

From a correctly installed battery the supply
current is flowing in forward direction through
the diode to the load.
Power losses of the diode can be calculated
easily with its forward voltage drop
characteristic.
