Hello! I wrote to John V. Murphy who put the Fife book together and here
is
what he said:

"Re your recent letter of 17 April 1997, I do not kow about

documentation.
As I recall it was written by Joseph Vance (?) for an 1890 family
reunion. I
located an original copy from a lady who had used it as documentation
for a
DAR application. I got copies of 3 or 4 DAR applications and I wrote to
these people. One responded that she had an original that had been a
family
keepsake. On my request she was kind enough to hav it photocopied. I did
some indexing and had it reprinted and got copies in all the local
libraries.

I do not know if DAR still accepts this as proof, but I doubt it. At
that
time I had requestsw for copies from many Fife relatives and others
across
the country. All copies were gone for some time. One lady in Iowa sent
me
a photocopy of a photograph that was made at that reunion. None of the
people were identified.

I wish I could give you more help. I am no longer able to do research.
