Introduction
Internet cafs are located worldwide, and many people use them
when traveling to access webmail and instant messaging services to
keep in touch with family and friends. Apart from travelers, in many
developing countries Internet cafs are the primary form of Internet
access for citizens as a shared-access model is more affordable than
personal ownership of equipment and/or software. A variation on the
Internet caf business model is the LAN gaming center, used for
multiplayer gaming. These cafs have several computer stations
connected to a LAN. The connected computers are custom-assembled
for gameplay, supporting popular multiplayer games. This is reducing
the need for video arcades and arcade games, many of which are
being closed down or merged into Internet cafs. The use of Internet
cafs for multiplayer gaming is particularly popular in certain areas of
Asia like India, China, Taiwan, Hong Kong, South Korea and the
Philippines.
Internet cafs or better known as computer shops are found on
every street in major cities and there is at least one in most
municipalities or towns. There are also Internet cafs in coffee shops
and malls. High-end restaurants and fast food chains also provide free
broadband to diners. Rates range from P15 on streets, up to P100 in
malls.
Mr. Fracisco, the owner started his business in the year 2005 in a
rented space in Villalon Mayantoc, Tarlac. He started with 10 brand
new computers designed for office and minor games only, the shop
started dull but as time passed by students from nearby schools
regularly came to the caf to do some research work and play
computer games, the owner noticed that his shop getting popular
because of their computer games.
At year 2008 the owner added 5 more computers and moved to
Poblacion Sur Mayantoc, Tarlac, and the land was rented to Mrs. Vilma
Acosta, their the shop is more noticeable and near the town proper and
nearer to most schools in Mayantoc.
On year 2010 with right earnings, the owner upgraded all
computers to support heavy online games like Dota 2, Call of Duty, and
Left for Dead, etc.
The shop gain more and more costumers, most are students
lending their free times in playing computer games.
Lastly, he added five more computers to accommodate the
gaining of clients going to the shop, sometimes the shop works 24
hours a day.
With little knowledge in network design, and with the help of a
comrade, Mr. Justine Pascual, they are the ones in charge in the
maintenance of the whole Internet Caf, problems occur like lag,
because of the overuse of computers and lack of memory capacity,
disconnection because of faulty network cables, and file stealing
because of unsecure network system.

EXISTING SYSTEM
Description of the Existing System
This kind of Network system is very common and widely used by
Internet caf, because it is the simplest, and cost less than the other
network system. In this type of topology, all the nodes (computers as
well as servers) are connected to the single cable (called bus), by the
help of interface connectors. This central cable is the backbone of the
network and is known as Bus (truth name). Every workstation
communicates with the other device through this Bus.

PROPOSED SYSTEM
Description of the Proposed System
Star topology is different than bus topology. Star topology, each
computer is connected to a central point from a dedicated cable. The
central point is a device called hub. Although this topology uses more
cable but failure only occurs on one cable. Usually this only affects one
portion of the network.

Proposed Guidelines/Maintenance
1. External Maintenance - External maintenance is all about
taking care of the physical parts of your computer.
2. Internal Maintenance - Internal computer maintenance
includes taking care of the files and programs on your computer.
3. Backup Files - Backing up your files is definitely a big part to
maintaining your computer correctly.
