Holmes is one a kind

As a reader of this amazing book, its a great challenge for me to write a review or even make a
comment on the series of these fascinating story narration. The character himself as we know is
universally famous as the number one detective or more precisely-a private consulting detective!
But as a matter of fact, when we say 'number one', it strikes all in a sudden that this personality is
just a character drawn by the genius A. Conan Doyle. but this is just one point about the
brilliance of the work.
the whole story narrated by his companion, Dr. Watson [save those narrated by Holmes himself
and by the author] is an innovative and creative idea from the author's side. it creates much more
vibrant images in the reader's mind about Watson, telling us those adventures from his diary
notes. these notes itself are described in between some of the story lines and there are situations
when Holmes comments on his companion's writings.
The way Sherlock Holmes handles his cases, the cases themselves are a masterpiece that could
only be written by a genius as I told before. After hearing his logical explanation and reasoning
about a mystery Watson finds himself in a position where its too difficult to think like that or
deduce it but when done so, by thinking through theories and facts, it is nothing but as simple as
clear water! this is quite the same situation for the reader too, who probably thinks whether they
can think like this 'logic-magician'.
So these 2 volume-collection of the world renowned classic is a must read and the credit goes to
the author himself and Bantam classics [publisher].

Unputdownable.
If you weighed the entire world of detective stories on one side and Sherlock Holmes on one
side, you would still find Holmes heavier. Read Sir Arthur Conan Doyle if you even remotely
like mystery and detection.

With Great Respect to the One and ONLY Mr.Holmes
Mr.Sherlock Holmes. There is no comparsion to this WORLD FAMOUS detective. He is unique
in all sense......... No words to explain... If you are new and going to meet Sherlock Holmes now
only.. Please start with the novel "A Study in Scarlet"... Buy these two volumes..... Trust me you
will learn a lot in your life rather than reading any other books.....................

Amazing
The book was delivered within the stipulated date mentioned by flipkart. That's a good service.
And about the book, it's awesome. Nice binding and fairly good paper quality. The printing is
also really good and includes the original illustrations of the story. Really more than worth for
the price. I was first wondering whether this single book will contain the entire collection. But I
was amazed, all the four novels and 56 short stories are in there. The book's a bit heavy though,
like a dictionary. But it's really good for anyone who will be wanting a Sherlock Holmes
collection.

The paper quality, print quality and text alignment aren't very convincing - for a moment I even
thought that they were pirated editions (obviously, they aren't).
But to be fair, it is a good buy at Rs. 149 (apiece for the two volumes) though.
By the way, excellent service, flipkart! :)

i have brought this book from flipkart, and i am a big fan of sir conan doyle`s book sherlock
holmes. i must say that this is a must for them who loves to read detective novels, and increase
thier english greatly.

sir arthur conan doyle is just ingenius.the best detective the world has ever seen is Mr.Sherlock
Holmes. i hope hope and hope that sherlock holmes is real.in this cunning world we need a
person as intelligent and as clever as Mr Holmes.it is really a best book. it is just as if we are in
the streets of london. the cabs,the murky weather and the great streets of london ,the beautiful
moors and the great great baker street is just amazing

All in one!
Quite fat book...
DO NOT BUY IF YOU ARE NOT A READER!! Sherlock holmes is forever interesting. The
delivery quality was quite good!! Flipkart rox! its a bit of old english. 1000+ pages.
I gifted it to my sister who loves reading and found this book very interesting. Enjoy!

a best gift for a friend
i gifted this book to one of my friends, she was pretty impressed as she loves sherlock holmes,
she was so thankful dat she had no words to appreciate. alongwith that i gave her hound of
baskerville which added the flavour to the gift. I am thankful to flipkart for such prompt n
excellent service. i bought it myself n its makes a wonderful read for a lifetime n its a treat for
adventures n suspenses.

A treasure in my collection
I ordered this book from flipkart and to my surprise i received it in two days. The quality of
pages is good. Coming back to the novel- this novel is a treasure in my collection of books. Sir
Arthur Canon Doyle has done great writing of his stories. Overall the book is worth buying and
is at a good price. Happy to have this book.

This is a very good book and the Introduction stated by Mr. Loren Estleman in the beginning,
gives a rare insight on the two main characters, but mostly on Dr. Watson. For all the first time
readers of Sherlock Holmes, this is a must buy.

BEST OF DETECTIVES
This is really a wonder of all time.
really the author CONAN DOYLE was presented this book so wonderfully. i hope so many
people like SHERLOCK HOLMES the character which amazingly solves the mystery behind the
crime scenes with his unbelievable powers.
this kind of books are very rare, i really amazed more than 100 years back this character was
created by the author and still the chracter has a very prominent place in the hearts of so many
people.
but the english was a little bit for me to undersatnd, at the same time i will help me to improve

my english.

Could not keep it down!!!
Awesome book and incredible illustration. I could read the book in the bus only for 40 minutes to
be precise, when I travelled to and fro office. I was equally stunned and thrilled by Holmes'
logical explanations as Dr. Watson. Felt like I was with them all the time silently watching how
they were solving their cases in hand. Read one book from Perry Mason's series and missed
Holmes' techniques badly. If time permits, I will read the book or some stories from it again.

Anyone knows if the book is available in any other foreign language (Indian language to be
precise)?

A Good Book
Well well. This is my first Purchase from flipkart and i must say that during the shipping period
they supported me with all the questions I had in my mind. I got this amazing book in a very
good condition. Regarding Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Watson and Sir Arthur Conan Doyle I must say
they are Genius. when I'm reading it, I almost find myself in a quite industrious city of London,
walking along or better behind Watson and Holmes and Listening to all their conversations (well
not helping much with their issues) and the way Mr. Holmes comes to all that deductions and the
way he explains to Watson is beyond admirable, just amazing. How I wish Mr. Holmes to be in
