PRACTICUM POLICIES

1. Students are required to report to work no matter what. Students are only
allowed with a maximum of three absences during the semester,
excused or unexcused. In case of absences, they should inform the
immediate supervisor and practicum moderator early in the morning.
2. Students are to complete 180 hours of OJT, comprising of four unbroken
hours a day and must be five days a week.
3. Optional work days are only during school holidays and official
examination week, but must inform immediate supervisor.
4. Tardiness means straight demerits.
5. Weekly Training Activities Report (WTAR) must be signed by the
supervisor and must be submitted in BM office every Friday afternoon.
6. The time to be credited to the OJT is the exact time you come in and out
of the office (based on agreed reporting time in the company). Cheating
in the WTAR will mean automatic failure in the subject. Also, cheating
in the OJT is covered under the following provision of the student manual:
3. Other forms of Cheating
3.1. Fabrication or falsification is intentionally and knowingly making
unauthorized alterations to information or inventing information or citations
in an academic exercise. Fabrication is inventing or counterfeiting
information; falsification is altering information. They occur:
When one alters or falsifies a graded work after it has been evaluated by
the instruction and re submits it for re-grading;
When one invents data or provides a false account of the method by
which data were generated;
When one misrepresents by fabricating otherwise justifiable excuses
such as illness, injury, accident, etc., in order to avoid timely submission of
an academic work or to avoid or delay taking of a test or examination.
3.5. Regarding the above types of academic dishonesty and others of
a similar nature, the College Academic Council leaves the penalties
to be given to the instructors concerned. These penalties may
include:
Revision or completion of the work in question, with or without a grade
reduction;
A reduced grade, including F or 60 for academic work or assignment;
A reduced grade, including F or 60, for the entire course.
Cases here additional disciplinary sanctions are sought (such as
suspension, exclusion of permanent expulsion) would have to be elevated
to the Disciplinary Board, following prevailing University practice, rules and
regulations.
7. Overtime and undertime are not allowed in the internship.
8. Students are required to wear their practicum uniform at all times.

9. Demerits are deducted straight from the raw grade. Refer to the table
below for the specific demerits:
