Please read this paper very carefully. It contains just about all of the information you need for the 2010 FAMAT
State Convention. There is a page on the back of this packet that needs to be detached and left with your parents.

MISCELLANEOUS INFORMATION:
*The following meals are covered by your registration money : Friday night dinner and all three meals on
Saturday. You will be responsible for all other meals and snacks.
*You are advised to bring snacks with you. There are some restaurants at and near the hotel.
*Due to last year’s “Lila Incident”, you will receive a card with your ID number on it. Keep this card on you for all
tests. You will also receive your scan sheets ahead of time. Keep them clean and unwrinkled.
*You must bring a ticket with you to all Topic tests or risk not taking the test. Scan sheets will be provided to you
at the Friday organizational meeting. Bring your ticket, the correct scan sheet and your MAӨ pencils to each test.
*The phones and pay movies will be turned off in the students’ rooms.
*The school dress code and code of conduct are in force for State.
*Bowls – The top 4 students in each division according to individual (Theta, Alpha, Calculus) test scores. The
Statistics team will be made up of the four highest scores on the Statistics topic test of the students not on the
Theta, Alpha, and Calculus teams.
*Calculators – No calculators are allowed for any test except the Statistics.
*Poster – A poster theme is given out and a poster reflecting this team is constructed at the convention. They are
judged and count towards sweepstakes. You may only draw the poster. No attachments.
*Dispute Center – Open 30 minutes after each testing round.
*Awards – Individual: top 25. Topic tests: top : 20. Team: top 10. Relay: top 10. School-wide test: top 10.
*Scrapbook: top 10. Poster: top 10

CLOSING NOTES: Let’s enjoy ourselves and have a great time at State. Thursday, Friday, and Saturday are the
days for business. Sunday is the day for play. Last year, we had our best showing ever, placing 3rd in the state. We
have improved a lot this year. Keep up the momentum. It is very competitive for the top 10 places in the state.
OUTWORK every other school in the state and let’s gains in the state rankings. Let’s go for it! Do your best to
prepare for State. Have productive practice sessions before State, then get the proper rest during State. HAVE
FUN AND PERFORM WELL.
