Communication gap
Objectives were defined lately (Objectives were decided intercourse.)
Delay in assignment of task
Deadlines were not clear
Task was also not much that clear (Changes in task with time )
Deadlines were not feasible when you assign task at eleventh hour
Survey procedure was not clear (What to dig out?)
No motivation at all in whole task (From team leader side to motivate team
members)
I am as a team head
Introduction of new task:
The task for me as a team leader is to conduct a survey on Preference of
entertainment of students in H12 campus. This task is assign to me to overcome
issues which I faced as a team member. My task is to:
123456-
Assumptions:
Following are the assumptions which are important to conduct survey:
12345-
Objective:
To find out what are the preferences of NUST students for entertainment purpose
ranging from mobile gadget to outdoor activities.
Hierarchy:
Following is the hierarchy for conducting a survey in H12 campus. I am as a team
head design a questionnaire with the help of consultants suggestions. Then survey
is distributed to 20 team leaders i.e. 2 from each department. These team leaders
provide guidance and supervision to their team members i.e. 2 team members
under each team leader. There is also a team of auditors who will be there to back
check responses to increase reliability and validity
12345-
Sample technique:
It is incumbent on the researcher to clearly define the target population. The sample is defined in keeping
with the objectives of the study. The sample reflects the characteristics of the population from which it is
drawn. For our study, Convenience sampling will be using in this research. As the name implies, the
sample is selected because they are convenient. This method is often used during preliminary research
efforts to get a gross estimate of the results. We can use random sampling but we are not sure about the
presence of all students at department at one time. We choose a sample of 800 i.e. 80 from each
department and 20 by each team member.
Time line:
Time allocated to each team leader is of eight working days. Time distribution is as

Work cells:
To conduct surveys from different departments, I divided departments into different
work cells. There are 10 work cells for each department, one work cell of main team
head and consultants and lastly is of auditors. I broke down this task into 20
questionnaires by each member to keep in mind time constraint. This is crucial time
for students because it is end of the semester and students who are as team
leaders and team members have to do their own work/projects. This will help in
increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of whole process.
Motivational factor:
To motivate team leaders and team members, following points should be kept in
mind which will help in motivating them:
12345-
Conclusion:
In the last, thats all what will I do as a team head. I will try to communicate as
much as I can, which in result motivates them. This will also help in getting
accuracy in data. The work flow should be clear to everyone. I will also try to
minimize ambiguities at any part of the task. Lastly, more you and your team are
clear in what they want to get done, more good results will be there.
