¿Quién eres
tú para
juzgar a
otros?
Our need to compare ourselves with others can lead to a false sense of superiority, which is at the
heart of today’s Gospel. We can be quick to accuse others. Moral indignation directed at others
diverts us from acknowledging our own sinfulness. Jesus tells us, through His example, not to get
caught up in public outcry against others. We are all sinners and all in need of salvation. God
alone is able to judge human behavior. All God’s children are worthy of dignity and respect. We
are called to extend the same mercy and forgiveness to others that God extends to us. In doing so,
we become free from the burden of sin.

Again, thank you to all, Hispanics and Anglos, who brought food, gave donations, helped in set-up and clean-up. I came
to church Monday morning and it was all cleaned up, only the base steps needed to be taken back outside! Frances
Diliberto always lets us use her beautiful statue of St. Joseph, and Mary Marino always donates many, many items from
her store. THANK YOU!
WELCOME!
We welcome Margarita Carrillo who recently began working as our part time secretary at the church. Marga-
rita is with us from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM Monday through Friday. If you have a need to call the church, she
will answer the phone.
Gene Huey and his wife Jo Ann have been traveling the state of Alabama recently due to Gene’s work. He wants our
parish to know that he is so very proud of belonging to St. Joseph. When he comes home he truly feels at home. The
welcoming smiles, hugs, greetings, handshakes are all about being a family. He is proud of the way we welcome friends
as well as strangers who come to our church. First time visitors are always made to feel welcome. Gene and Jo Ann are
on the ‘other end of the stick’ so to speak, with all of their travels. Gene says that no other church makes them feel wel-
come, as we do here at St. Joseph. Very rarely does someone greet them or ask where they are from. In a church full of
people they feel lost, alone and unwelcome. So keep up the good work, dear people!
Meekly she bowed her head to hear the gracious word, Mary the pure and lowly maid, the favored of the Lord.
Blessed shall be her name in all the church on earth! Through whom that wondrous Mercy came; the Incarnate
Savior’s birth.
