Began working in non-profit as a volunteer Art Director.

Bachelor of Fine Art and wanted to use my degree to give back, so volunteering for a creative arts based organization seemed like a good fit.

As I got more involved as a volunteer I began thinking of working in non-profit long term and was oered a full time position as the Program Director.

I had to shift my plans as I had not previously considered a career in non-profit. However, the passion I felt for HALO and the ability to still use my creative background appealed to me and I have been working for HALO ever since.

It's now been a total of nine years since I first got involved as a volunteer Art Director.

I have been involved in almost all of HALO's major growth.

5 programs. We now have over 20 programs Internationally and locally and have continued to grow rapidly.

Some examples of these projects that I've been involved in have been starting a Learning Center for youth in need here in Kansas City to participate in art and future focused Programming

Serve over 500 youth per year in that one program.

I have also spearheaded new HALO programming in Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Uganda including an Educational Center in Guatemala and a Learning Center in Uganda.

We have grown to support about 100 youth to over 1,000 youth total since I began working with HALO.

because of our dedicated supporters halo

youth have a chance for a bright future.
That is a great motivation to continue
working for such a wonderful cause.

Here is a quote about why I enjoy working for HALO and why I'm motivated to continue-

"I feel fortunate to work for such a unique organization that meets not only the basic needs of youth in need, but also meets their emotional and educational needs. HALO has hundreds of volunteers who utilize their unique skills which allows a large percentage of our funding to go directly to the
programs we support. I know that each dollar raised is going to the right place. I have been fortunate to work directly with our 13 programs worldwide and to see the opportunities HALO youth have been given as a result of the hard work and dedication of our sta, volunteers and donors. Because of
our dedicated supporters HALO youth have a chance for a bright future. That is a great motivation to continue working for such a wonderful cause."
