Liebert ITA 10 - 40 kVA

Flexible Power Protection for Rack or Tower Installation

Remarkable Efficiency and Flexibility Characterize the Liebert ITA UPS Family
Featuring true on-line double conversion technology, the Liebert ITA UPS series from Emerson Network Power provides a
highly efficient and reliable power protection solution for your computer rooms, storage and network equipment.
With a 0.9 output power factor, Liebert ITA perfectly matches the needs of modern IT loads, and with its wide input voltage
and frequency range, it effectively reduces the need for battery intervention, thus prolonging battery life.
It is also endowed with intelligent fans with automatic speed adaptation, which effectively save energy and reduce noise.
Liebert ITA supports common battery configurations between paralleled UPS and the number of batteries per string, which
can be arranged flexibly, facilitating the utilization of different battery systems and saving on battery investment.
An extra powerful battery charger across all models capable of recharging high capacity battery strings ensures a fast chargerestoration even after a prolonged power outages.
Product Features:
Rack-tower design for installation flexibility
Able to deliver both three-phase and single-phase
output (10-20 kVA)
Ultra high power density
0.99 input power factor for better grid or generator
compatibility
0.9 output power factor for additional power
availability
Up to 95% system efficiency in double conversion
ECO mode operation with efficiency up to 98% and
remarkable energy-saving performance
Powerful charging capability with consequent
reduction of the battery recharging time
The UPS is compatible with any Building Management
System (BMS) by offering the following
communication features:
Voltage-free contact ports
USB interface
Optocoupler based interfaces
Intellislot for SNMP, Modbus or Relay communication.

Liebert ITA offers enhanced flexibility with a wide range

of accessories for both stand-alone and rack-mount
installations. When rack mounted, it allows to install up to
40 kVA in just 4 U of space, achieving a remarkable space
saving. Parallelability and maintenance are facilitated
through the use of dedicated bypass and power distribution
options while extended backup time can be provided
with matching battery modules for a neat rack-mounted
installation.
Liebert ITA features a multi-lingual LCD user interface
allowing close control and monitoring of system status and
performance.
The Liebert ITA series is ideally suited for:

We have proposed the Emerson Liebert ITA and 80 Net series Three
phase UPS Systems. The required backup time is provided as per the
Battery sizing calculation in accordance with IEEE STD 485-1997
standard as per the attached details

BATTERY SELECTION FOR UPS SYSTEMS ABOVE 10 Kva

To 100 Kva
1. Battery Size Calculation for 13.5 KVA
The proposed 15 KVA UPS system is working at 13.5KVA / 10.8 KW ( at standard 0.8 PF)
load as per specifications. So we need to supply 10.8 KW at the output of the UPS. The
inverter has an efficiency of 0.94 (94 %), we need to supply to the input of the inverter 11.48
KW required for 30 minutes.
Kindly find here below our battery calculation to supply a UPS 13.5 KVA for a period of
more than 30 minutes backup at full loads.

Thus, going to ROCKET battery catalogue attached , we can see that battery model
ES 42- 12 VRLA
( 12V, 42AH) Sealed Maintenance Free (SMF) Battery consisting of
One string of 180 cells / 30 blocks of 12V can supply 78.8W / Cell at 1.65 Volts which will
give more than 30 minutes backup time for the UPS at 13.5 KVA / 10.8 KW load.
We proposed to install these 30 Nos battery blocks in a open Battery Rack, considering the
Ventilation and Maintenance aspects . Battery Rack Dimension is as follows
Battery Rack Dimension in mm ( Approx.) L= 1000 ,W= 400 ,H= 1250

2. Battery Size Calculation for 20 KVA

The Proposed 20 KVA UPS system working at 20KVA / 16 KW (with standard 0.8 PF) load
as per Specifications. So we need to supply 16 KW at the output of the UPS. The inverter has
an efficiency of 0.942 (94.2%), we need to supply to the input of the inverter 16.98 KW
required for 30 minutes.
Kindly find here below our battery calculation to supply a UPS 20 KVA for a period of 30
minutes backup at full loads.

Thus, going to ROCKET battery catalogue, we can see that battery model ES 42-12 AGM VRLA
( 12V, 42AH) SMF Battery consisting of One string of 216 cells / 36 blocks of 12V can supply
78.8 W / Cell at 1.65 Volts which will give 30 minutes backup time for the UPS at 20 KVA at 16
KW load
We proposed to install these 38 Nos battery blocks in a open Battery Rack, considering the
Ventilation and Maintenance aspects. Battery Rack Dimension is as follows
Battery Rack Dimension in mm ( Approx.) L= 1000, W= 500 , H= 1250

3. Battery Size Calculation for 25 KVA

The Proposed 30 KVA UPS system working at 25 KVA / 20 KW (with standard 0.8 PF)
load as per Specifications. So we need to supply 20 KW at the output of the UPS. The inverter
has an efficiency of 0.947 (94.7%), we need to supply to the input of the inverter 21.11 KW
required for 30 minutes.
Kindly find here below our battery calculation to supply a UPS 25 KVA for a period of 30
minutes backup at full loads.

6.Battery Size Calculation for 60 KVA

The Proposed 60 KVA UPS system working at 60 KVA / 48 KW (with standard 0.8 PF) load
as per Specifications. So we need to supply 48 KW at the output of the UPS. The inverter has
an efficiency of 0.945 (94.5%), we need to supply to the input of the inverter 50.79 KW
required for 30 minutes.
Kindly find here below our battery calculation to supply a UPS 60 KVA for a period of 30
minutes backup at full loads.

VRLA
( 12V, 120AH) SMF Battery consisting of One string of 240 cells / 40 blocks of 12V
can supply 236 W / Cell at 1.65 Volts which will give more than 30 minutes backup time for the
UPS at 60 KVA at 48 KW load
We proposed to install these 40 Nos battery blocks in a open Battery Rack, considering the
Ventilation and Maintenance aspects. Battery Rack Dimension is as follows
