    NATIONAL SECURITY AGENCY CENTRAL SECURITY SERVICE FORT GEORGE G, MEADE, MARYLAND 20755-6000 FOIA Case: 77288A 6 October 2015 JASON LEOPOLD Dear Mr, Leopold: This responds to your Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) request of 24 March 2014, which was received by this office on 25 March 2014, for “Any and all records that were sent to the public email address ideas@nsa.gov. The timeframe for my request is August 1, 2013 through the date the search for responsive records begin, Details of record requirements provided on page 2 of Initial Request.” You later clarified by email on 16 October 2014, that we “can definitely eliminate emails that would be spam and emails that fall under the category of phishing.” As previously provided, your request has been assigned Case Number 77288. There is certain information relating to this processing about which the FOIA and applicable Department of Defense (DoD} and NSA/CSS regulations require we inform you. For purposes of this request and based on the information you provided in your letter, you are considered a “media” requester. There are no assessable fees for this request. Your request has been processed under the FOIA and the documents you requested are enclosed. Certain information, however, has been deleted from the enclosures. All personal information regarding an individual has been deleted from the enclosures in accordance with 5 U.S.C. 552 (b)(6). This exemption protects from disclosure information that would constitute a clearly unwarranted invasion of personal privacy. In balancing the public interest for the information you request against the privacy interests involved, we have determined that the privacy interests sufficiently satisfy the requirements for the application of the (b){6) exemption. ‘The Initial Denial Authority for NSA information is the Associate Director for Policy and Records, David J. Sherman. Any person notified of an adverse determination may file an appeal to the NSA/CSS Freedom of Information Act FOIA Case: 772884 Appeal Authority. The appeal must be postmarked no later than 60 calendar days after the date of the initial denial letter. The appeal shall be in writing addressed to the NSA/CSS FOIA Appeal Authority (DJ4), National Security Agency, 9800 Savage Road STE 6248, Fort George G.
