Introduction and Overview

Thank you for purchasing Styles Disk #20 featuring 21 great new 'Southern Gospel' (or Country) styles for Band-in-a-Box.
Note: As these styles use some of the newer Stylemaker features, you must have Band-in-a-Box Version 8.0c (or higher) for
these styles to work properly.
These days, Spiritual music styles have, like Jazz, Country and Rock, become extremely diversified, running the
gamut from Traditional Gospel, Southern Gospel, Contemporary Gospel, Urban Gospel, Praise and Worship, and
Inspirational, to Rap, Techno and more. In short, all of the available past and present styles are used.
The Southern Gospel genre typically features a Country flavored, vocal-group-with-band sound.
With Styles Disk 20, we're pleased to bring you over 20 all-new Southern Gospel styles. These Country-flavored
styles will make a great addition to your Band-in-a-Box Styles collection. The styles feature lots of 2-beat Country swing,
straight-8th & 16th rhythms - slow, medium or fast tempos, tempos and Ballads.
With these styles, you'll have new custom arrangements which emulate the sounds of groups like; The Statler
Brothers, The Anchormen, The Bishops, The Blackwood Brothers, The Florida Boys, The Plainsmen, The Slaughtermen, the
Journeymen, The Crimsons, The Hayes Family, The Easters, Appointed, The Galloways and many more including most of the
more recently composed tunes.
Some of the style demos have been recorded and saved with harmonized vocal group melodies. With Band-in-a-Box
version 9.0 or better, this is easily accomplished. Once the melody is recorded, a harmony can be selected - (for example '#503-Part -1 Above'), converted to the melody track and saved with the tune. Save the tune as a MIDI file (complete with
harmonized melody) for easy distribution to friends. If a more specific harmony is desired in certain parts, it's easy to tweak
some notes (using the Piano-Roll Notation view). Just 'pull them' to wherever you want! Of course, printing the individual parts
is also a snap. Arranging for 4-part vocal or horn sections has never been easier!
