Once Insight has been installed on the computer, the start menu will have an Inner Range folder. This
contains links to the Insight modules. Ensure the Database Tool and Launch Pad are running. This is
indicated by two icons in the system tray.
2.
To run Insight, the Database tool must be started. Right Click on the Database Tool and select Start
Database. The red slash will disappear from the icon once the database is started.
3.
Start the Launch Pad application by clicking on the little man icon once. This will bring up the Insight
Launch Pad screen to let you run the Insight modules. (Insight Pro version shown below)
4.
Click the Enrol Panel icon from the Launch Pad. This will set up panel connection for programming. A
login window will be presented for the Username and Password to be entered. The default login
credentials are installer/installer or admin/admin. Login as Installer.
5.
Fill in the Enrol Panel dialogue box as follows. Note: The fields with the
icon must match with what
has been programmed in the panel Insight comms task and the panel info screen.

One Concept 4000 controller, 128k RAM (An 8-way Aux expander is assumed to be fitted)
One Universal Elite Terminal
One 2 Door Access Module
The control module and reader module will be installed in a designated communications room. The keypad will
be installed on the wall in the foyer to allow users to arm/disarm their allowed areas.
The floor plan indicates the location of the detection devices and other hardware. The consultant that did the
plans left out some key elements of the system. These will have to be added to the floor plan accordingly.
21
All users are to have access to the Foyer to arm/disarm their allowed areas.
Carl is to have access to all Areas in the building. He likes the word "stash" so his PIN should spell the
word "stash" on the keypad. (77173)
Mick is to have access to all Areas except the Vault. His PIN spells "cash" (1173).
Roberta is only to have access to the Office Area. Her PIN spells "pills" (63447).
The Maintenance guy Frank needs access to all the building areas. His PIN is (16958).
Vince the storeman needs access to the Warehouse. He wants his PIN to be bling (14353)
Other Specifications:
1.
A Reader module (R01) has been installed so a card can be used to access the VAULT.

3.
4.
There will be a Siren fitted to the main building and should be triggered by all Areas when they go into
alarm. It should sound for no more than 5 minutes at a time.
5.
6.
Carl wants the Reader module installed for the Vault Door. The Vault Door lock will be attached to
R01:X01. The Vault Door is only to be opened by Carl when he uses the Proximity Key Fob that is to be
issued to him.
7.
When Carl uses his Key Fob to access the Vault, the security within the Vault is to automatically turn off
and the light is to automatically turn on. When the Vault Area is turned on, the light inside the Vault is to
turn off automatically.
8.
Carl also wants to be able to secure the Vault by presenting his Key Fob at the card reader three times.
(He knows this feature is available)
9.
The light inside the Vault will be controlled by a relay connected to C01:X02.
10.
Future expansion requires a memory configuration to be chosen to allow 32 reader modules and 2
Wireless RF expanders. Carl wants to expand his enterprise in the near future.
11.
The LEDs on the Terminal are to indicate the status of the OFFICE, VAULT, FOYER and WAREHOUSE
Areas.
22
12.
All areas are to report open and close activities via client code 1121 to Dodgy Bros. Monitoring Station,
Phone number 97533488.
Carl wishes to have a reader on the front door, he knows he has a 2 Door Reader module so he wants to
make the most of it. Set up a second door to allow this to happen. All users should have access through
this second door.
14.
The Foyer area will automatically disarm when a valid card is presented at the reader head and unlock
the front door for 10 seconds.
15.
A light in the Foyer should turn on when the Foyer disarms. T01:X01 has a relay connected to switch
power for this light. The light will turn off when the area rearms.
16.
Users will still have to disarm/arm the Office or Warehouse Areas from the keypad. Program 3-badge
arming to be used to arm the Foyer once they have left for the day.
17.
The OK key on the keypad will act as a REX button to unlock the front door to allow egress of the
building.
Use the WORKING HOURS Time Zone to automatically stop everyone other than Carl access to the
building on the weekends and after hours.
