class and they got a tendency to search the
matters happened, newspaper reports or the

With a sense of grief a son fondly recalls how never appreciated


his fathers love when he was a boy

Content analysis

Sundays are supposed to be the rest days. Generally people worked


on week days, from Monday to Saturday. But the poet found his
father working even on Sundays. Father woke up early in the
morning. He put on his cloths and kindled the fire with his cracked
hands, hands that ached because of hard work during week days.
The poet to his dismay members that no one in the house hold
ever expresses thanks to his father including himself.
