Dhikr & Du’a (Part 2)

Dhikr, remembering Allah, is something

important that every Muslim should do
regularly.

Allah told us in the Qur’an:

“So remember Me; I will remember you. And

be grateful to Me and do not deny Me.”
(Surah al-Baqarah 2:152)

A man came to the Messenger of Allah

asking his advice and he told him “Always
keep your tongue wet with the remembrance
of Allah.”1

This means that remembering Allah is

something that you should try to do a lot.

There are many good things that the

Messenger of Allah told us that we can say
to remember Allah.

The Messenger of Allah said

“The best remembrance is

Laa ilaaha illaa Allah ;

the best supplication is

Al-hamdu lillaah.”2
The Messenger of Allah also taught us that
there are “Two words which are light on the
tongue and heavy in the Balance, and
beloved to the Most Merciful:

Subhaana Allaahi wa bihamdih

How perfect Allah is and I praise Him
and

Subhaana Allaah il-‘Azheem.

How perfect Allah is, The Almighty.”3
