Overthelastsevenweeksofthiscampaign,Ihavelearnedalotaboutmydistrictandits
constituentshopesandneeds.Onethingisclear,whathasbeenmissingforthepasteightyears
isacouncilorwhoisresponsivetothosehopesandneeds.HeresalookathowIwilladdress
thisgaponceIamelected.

Intheshortterm:
IintendtoestablishacommunicationsplantofacilitateaneasyprocessthroughwhichIcan
exchangeupdates/newswiththeconstituentsinmydistrictviawebsite,FaceBookandemail.
Myphonenumberwillbepublicallylistedandconstituentsencouragedtocallmedirectlywith
questionorconcerns.Iamcommittedtoreturningthosecallswithin24to48hours.
Furthermore,Iintendtoimplementmonthlymeetingswithneighborhoodassociationsand/or
precinctstohearconcernsandissuesthathaveorwillarise.

Inordertobetterstreamlineandprioritizetheseconcerns,Iwouldliketoincorporatestrategic
planningthroughoutthedistrict.Invitingneighborhoodorganizationstocometogetherwith
neighborsandsmallandlocalbusinessestothinkthroughshortandlongtermspublicpolicy
goals.

Inthelongterm:

Withthesupportofmyconstituents,Iwillproceedwithdeliveringtheoutcomesofstrategic
planningtothecitycouncilchambers,inadditiontotheforesightIreceiveinmakingmy
decisionsonotherissuesothercouncilorsmaybring.

Inaddition,Iintendtoalsobringforththeandconcernsthathavecomeupthroughoutthis
campaign,suchas:

Improvingpublicsafetybyprioritizingresponsetimeandtransparencytothecommunity
fromcitygovernment
Implementingthelasttwophasesoftheminimumwagelaw,whilesupportinglocaland
smallbusinesstomakethistransitionseamlessly
Engagingmostifnottheentirecommunityondecisionsandplanningonhowwefurther
investtheGrossReceiptsTax(GRT)
Institutingimpactfeesthatarefairforthegreatercommunity
Prioritizeprojectsbasedonneedsforinfrastructure,specificallytoourtraditional
neighborhoodsliketheMesquite,AlamedaDepot,andSolanodistricts.

Irealizethatourphilosophiesmaynotalwaysalign,butwhatIdoknowisthatweallholdthe
samevaluesclosetousandcareaboutthefutureofthiscommunityanditschildren,families,
neighborhoodsandbusinesses.Iamcommittedtoopeningalineofcommunicationthatenables
alltobeheard,regardlessofpoliticalideology.Althoughwemaynevercometothesame
accord,IinviteyoutojoinmeinworkingtogethertoreturnwisestewardshiptoDistrict1.Once
Iamelected,IintendtoreachouttoyouandIhopethatyouwillreachouttome.
