Best Romantic Comedy Anime

Hey ladies and gentlemen! I am going to share with you the 10 best funny romance anime that I
have watched over the years. If you have leisure time, let me know what you think of my list!

1. Full Metal Panic? Fumoffu

This a side story to the original Full Metal Panic! anime, focusing more the on Kaname Chidor and
Sagara Sousuke's school life. It tops my list because it is extremely funny. Full Metal Panic?
Fumoffu features an adorable teddy bear (which makes the "fumoffu" sound) and Sousuke is sweet
but a total goofball when it comes to love. He is a military geek who excels in military missions but
fails horribly in regular school life. Thankfully, Chidori keeps him in line.

2. Special A

This anime documents the rivalry between a lovely couple: Hanazona Hikari and Takishima Kei.
Hikari, the female lead, is extremely competitive by nature and takes pride in being the best at
everything. However, no matter how hard she tries to beat Kei in academics or sports, she always
ends up second best. As a result, she tries to compete with Kei in everything. What she doesn't
know is that Kei likes her.

3. School Rumble
What's cool about School Rumble is that the series doesn't just focus on one couple, but many at the
same time. The main couple is Harima Kenji and Tsukamoto Tenma. Both characters are horrible at
expressing their feelings and as a result there are many funny misunderstandings. The supporting
cast makes this anime an especially good romantic comedy series to watch.

4. Toradora!
Toradora is funny as well as romantic. The protagonist is Ryji Takasu, a gentle guy with eyes that
make him look mean and tough. They say looks can be deceiving, and Takasu is a perfect example
of this. Raised by a single mother, Takasu is gentle and independent. At school he is in the same
class as his secret crush and another girl, Taiga, who is super tough. Together, Ryki and Taiga help
each other win their love interests' attention.

5. Inuyasha
This is a classic romantic comedy. The story includes themes from ancient Japan and supernatural
powers. For example, InuYasha is a half-demon dog and half-human protector of the Sacred Jewels.
When high school student Kagome discovers the Sacred Jewel of the Four Souls in a well, she
travels to ancient Japan. She summons InuYasha by chance and travels with him to recover the
shattered jewel shards after a battle.
As they journey together, they fall in love with each other. The series is a little long, so be warned.

6. Kaichou wa Maid-sama
This anime is really one of the best, in my opinion. The story begins at an all-boys school that has
recently begun to accept girls. Of course, with such a drastic change comes tremendous shock. It is
terrifying for girls just to be in this school, let alone try to study there. Along comes Misaki Ayuzawa,
who becomes the first female student council president and leads the girl charge to make the school
safe for girls. She might be tough and even look like a "boy hater" but the twist is that she works as a
maid outside of school. Soon enough, a guy named Takumi starts paying attention to her after
discovering her "secret" and the two realize they are in love.

7. Fruits Basket
A young girl (Tohru Honda) has to move out of her house and is taken in by another family. What
Tohru doesn't realize is that some of the family members are possessed by spirits of Chinese
Zodiac. If one of the boys happens to hug a girl, he turns into a vengeful version of his zodiac

animal. After discovering the family's secret, Tohru is determined to help break the curse, and there
are plenty of laughs and adventures along the way.

8. Ouran High School Host Club

In this role-reversal anime, a "Male Host Club" entertains female clients. Haruhi Fujioka is the main
character of the story. Looking for a quiet place to study, Haruhi stumbles into a special Male Host
Club she hadn't known about. Her short hair and slouchy posture make her look like a boy, so when
Haruhi knocks over and breaks one of the club's expensive vases the club owners just tell her to
come back and work off the price of the vase. She joins the club's staff as a male entertainer, and
works hard not to reveal her true identity.

9. Clannad
Clannad is set in a private high school. Tomoya Okazaki is a student who doesn't take his studies
seriously. His father is an alcoholic and a gambler. Tomoya hates his life: he hates school, his daily
routine, and his father. He is late for school every day. Just when he thinks that his life is always
going to be horrible, he meets a strange girl and things start to get interesting.

10. The Familiar of Zero

A noble girl named Louise is absolutely inept at using magic. She is teased by her peers and called
"Louise the Zero" for her total inability to use any of the four elements. During their second year in
school, the characters have to summon a familiar to serve as a companion. Familiars are usually
magical creatures, but Louise summons Saito, an ordinary teenage boy from Japan. She is totally
humiliated by her mistake and treats Saito like a slave, until the two of them become friends and
help each other.
