effects, for this film, Disney has
brought us a fun film featuring a style
of cartoon realism. The animation is
very three-dimensional.
Audiences had the option to go and see
this film in 3D too. (it was developed in
2D and 3D

There is a strong theme of good versus

evil running throughout the film


however the good/bad roles of
characters change as the film
progresses. At first, Queen Elsa is
shown to be the villain in the film but
towards the end of the film, we see her
inner good nature come out more and
more by the way she shows concern
for her sister, Anna. As the story
develops, we also see the battle she
faces trying to control her feelings, and
therefore her ice powers. Nearer the
end of the film, the roles of the evil
character are switches from Elsa to
Hans as we find out that he has been
carrying out an evil plot all along. He is
shown to be a very manipulative, sly
character.
In terms of how strong the film is, I
would say its very strong. The overall
response to the film (exchange stage)
was extremely positive, and even
months after the film has been
released, it is still extremely popular.
There has been a short film called
Frozen fever produced. And it is
rumored that a second film will be
released in 2016.

Many Hollywood/blockbuster films use celebrity endorsement/star power
to help advertise the production:
Frozen featured several famous names in its cast including Kristen Bell (voice of
Anna) and Idina Menzel (the voice of Queen Elsa). The whole Cast appeared on
many talk shows like the Ellen show. Interviews with the cast were also
broadcasted on YouTube and worldwide television. This meant that they were
promoting the film to a massive audience at one time.

Word of mouth:
As Walt Disney is already a massively established production company name,
and they have brought out so many films over the years (many of which are now
referred to as classics, for example: Beauty and the beast, cinereralla, Pinocchio
etc.) People already had high expectations for frozen when it came out because
Walt Disney has a reputation of never letting down their audience.
When it came out, many spread good word of mouth recommendations in
person, and online. This was a method of free advertising for Disney.

Childrens toys and psychological marketing:
Over 250 different types of toy were produced in the theme of the movie frozen.
Each of the Disney stored put a limit of how many frozen toys could be
purchased by one person at any one time (they limited it to 2 per person). The
fact that people were told they couldnt have more than a certain amount made
them want it more, they wanted to break the rules and buy more.
Statistics show that the psychological marketing of frozen merchandise was
more effective than regular advertising and actually boosted their overall profits
for merchandise significantly more than if they were to advertise normally.

Let it go Tops the charts:
upon the release of Frozen, The main song from the film Let it go! (sung by
Idina Menzel) topped the charts for several weeks straight. This meant that this
song was constantly being played online, on the radio, and on music channels
everywhere. This can be classed as a form of advertising/marketing because
people everywhere would have this song stuck in their mind. As it was playing
everywhere, It acts as a constant reminder of the film.
