*Maximum water content is water weight when concrete is wet. Minimum water content is amount left after drying to constant weight at 185 F (85 C). Difference between the maximum water content and the amount of mix water added is the water of crystallization held by the aggregate. The difference between
the minimum water content and the water of crystallization is the water retained by the hardened cement paste.
