Introduction To The Company

Aerospace Composites Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. (ACM) is a Joint Venture (JV) Company based in
Bukit Kayu Hitam, Kedah, Malaysia, owned equally by The Boeing Company and Hexcel
Corporation.
The business of the JV is the manufacturer of flat and contoured primary (Aileron Skins,
Spoilers & Spars) and secondary (Flat Panels, Leading Edges, Trailing Edges & MISC:
Components) structure composite bond assemblies and sub-assemblies for aerospace
industries.

History Of Company
Aerospace Composites Malaysia Sdn Bhd manufactures flat and contoured primary and
secondary structure composite bond assemblies and sub-assemblies for aerospace industries.
Its products include aileron skins, spoilers, and spars; and flat panels, leading edges, trailing
edges, and miscellaneous components.
The company was formerly known as Asian Composites Manufacturing Sdn Bhd and changed
its name to Aerospace Composites Malaysia Sdn Bhd in November 2013. The company was
founded in 1998 and is based in Kedah Darul Aman, Malaysia. Aerospace Composites
Malaysia Sdn Bhd is a joint venture between Boeing Worldwide Operations Limited and
Hexcel Corp.
Boeing Commercial Airplanes is the customer for nearly all of ACMs output. ACM produces
flight surfaces for all Boeings commercial programmes, including the next-generation 737,
747-8, 767, 777 and 787 Dreamliner. Malaysia was chosen as the location for the joint
venture because of its skilled workforce, role as a long-term Boeing customer, and its plan to
become an aerospace hub in Asia.
The US$17 million investment in ACM by Boeing and Hexcel adds 125,000 ft2 to a factory
footprint that now totals 440,000 ft2. This includes a clean-room expansion of 11,000 ft2 and
installation of $5 million in new equipment.The added capacity is expected to be partially
used to begin production of 787 fixed leading edge panels in 2014.ACM, located in Kedah, is
also expected to grow its workforce beyond its current 950 employees.
