2 Install
2.1 WinFIOL and Tools
When upgrading from WinFIOL version 6.4 or older you have
to remove the old installation first (see chapter 3.1).
Load the WinFIOL and Tools CD-ROM into your CD-ROM drive.
The installation will start automatically. If WinFIOL version 7.0 or
newer already is installed, it will be automatically uninstalled
before the new version is installed.
The WinFIOL and Tools installation offers Complete Setup,
Custom Setup and Compact Setup. In Custom Setup you can
choose among the tools you want to install. In Complete Setup
everything will be installed. In Compact Setup only WinFIOL will
be installed. Select the Next button to acknowledge the selections
made in a dialog box and the Back button to return to the
previous page to change any options.
Upgrading from the previous version will not overwrite userdefined directories or files. However, it is recommended to keep a
safety copy of any important items stored within the old
installation.
WinFIOL 7.0 is now adapted for server usage, therefore are userdefined files stored per user in the %USERPROFILE%\My
Documents\WinFIOL directory. When upgrading from version
6.4 to version 7.0 a question is asked the first time WinFIOL is
started if you want to move your channel files and command files
to the new default directory. It is recommended to answer Yes to
this question. It is not possible to keep multiple installations on the
same computer.
