MONTH OF OCTOBER
To highlight the Feast of St Francis of Assisi this month, as
well as Pope Francis 2nd encyclical Care for our
Common Home, the Parish will have a Blessing of
Animals on Friday, 30th October at 5.30pm in the Church
garden (grounds). You are invited to bring your animals
along for the Blessing.

The Lords Prayer: When we pray the Our Father


parishioners are most welcome to raise their hands in
prayer. Quite a number of parishioners are already praying
this way. Its the normal way for the students at school to
pray the Our Father.
Jubilee Year of Mercy: Pope Francis has announced an Extraordinary Jubilee which
has at its centre the mercy of God. It will be a Holy Year of Mercy. This Holy Year
will commence on December 8th 2015, the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception
and will conclude on Sunday 20th November 2016, the Feast of Christ the King.
Liturgy of Lament & Hope: A liturgy will be held at St Patricks Cathedral,
Ballarat at 2.00pm Sunday, 1st November (All welcome). This is being arranged in
the context of the hearings of the Royal Commission relating to child abuse. The
liturgy will offer people an occasion to lament the wrongs that have occurred in our
Church, to ask forgiveness and to pray for healing for all involved.
Overseas Volunteers: Communities in East Timor, Ethiopia, Kenya, Kiribati,
PNG , Samoa and elsewhere are seeking volunteers to assist mentor local workers in
your field of expertise. Palms Australia has assisted communities to recruit, prepare
and support Australian Catholics who volunteer to share their lives and skills. Further
