teachers by the Society for Mining, Metallurgy and Exploration (SME), Inc. SME is
devoted to serving members who are involved in mineral resources exploration,

an excellent resource. Adapted from several sources including SMEs Exploring
Opportunities: CAREERS in the Minerals Industry and Career Match created by
the Women in Mining Education Foundation, this 21-page downloadable pdf lists the
education, skills and training needed for dozens of opportunities available in the
mining and minerals industries. Descriptions of each job makes this booklet a
valuable tool with numerous applications.

Mineral Information Institute:
Visit Mineral Information Institute website for helpful teaching aids. You can even
view mineral photos and learn about the uses of the minerals. The Mineral
Information Institute (MII) is dedicated to educating youth about the science of
minerals and other natural resources, and about their importance in our every day
lives.

The National Energy Foundation (NEF):


NEF is an educational organization dedicated to the development, dissemination, and
implementation of supplementary educational materials, programs, products and

NTSA is dedicated to improving science instruction and increasing public awareness
