Training Needs Analysis

In the beginning after your business objectives are identified we work closely together to explore the
issues you are facing and find a solution to these issues.
A Training Needs Analysis (TNA) forms the initial phase of any solution offered by LABA. It is also the most
important phase. Inability to get the needs Analysis correct will mean that the training solution will not be
correct.
The TNA phase also forms part of LABAs methodology to Assessment and Evaluation of any training
solution. It is vital during the TNA stage that criteria are set for measuring the effectiveness of the training
at all levels.
Needs Analysis occurs at several different levels

Organization
Occupational
Individual

As no two organizations, occupations or individuals are the same the TNA phase needs to be carefully
carried out to ensure that any learning solution will be the best solution now and in the future.
At it's base level a TNA essentially looks at the current status, determines the future status and bridges
the gap between the two.

Design Training
Once the Needs Analysis has been completed the next stage will be to design the training solution. This is
easier said than done as several things need to be taken into consideration:
-

Specify the objectives for the Training solution

Identify content for the training solution that will meet the objectives
Decide on the methods to use to deliver the solution
Devise and test activities & exercises that will be used during the training
Prepare/acquire the material.

People learn best when they use a mixture of three dimensions -

We provide Free TNA for your Organization, to best utilize

your Investment on training

DEDICATED TOWARDS PERFECTION IN ICT

Page 7

Psychomotor Learning - learning by Doing

Affective Learning - learning by understanding
Cognitive Learning - learning by storing, organizing and processing information

It is also important to remember the individuals learning styles to ensure that they are catered efficiently.

Deliver Training
Having a great Needs Analysis completed, and then getting some attractive looking material is great,
but the one thing guaranteed to bring the training event to life is the trainer. All of our consultants are
highly experienced and certified facilitators with many years of learning and development behind them.
They are able to bring the material to life, to make the learning real and to ensure that all learners leave
the event with a positive outcome.
Our facilitators use a unique blend of Brain Friendly Learning and Accelerated learning techniques to get
the message across.

Assessment and Evaluation

Assessment and Evaluation is a process to measure Training and Development against set criteria and
targets in order to understand the impact of the training event/s so that they can be reviewed and/or
changed in order to complete a cycle of continuous improvement. That measure can be across the
Organization Level, The Operational Level and the Individual Level
To help in the evaluation of the criteria a model will be used to make it easy to identify what should be
evaluated and at what level.

DEDICATED TOWARDS PERFECTION IN ICT

Page 8

Evaluation Model used by LABA

LABAs model of evaluation is based on Kirkpatricks model. LABA has amended the levels to suit
business needs and requirements of Nepal
1.
2.
3.
4.
5.
6.

Level One
Reaction
Learning
Behavior
Results
Return on Investment (ROI)

Level One has been included to:

Force organizations and Learning & Development functions to set measurable criteria for
training events as part of the initial Needs Analysis.
Ensure that future learning solutions are given tangible and business orientated criteria for
measurement
Influence the other functions within the business to set definable and measurable criteria
for training solutions.

Level 6 has been included to ensure that any future Training &Development event carried out can have a
defined impact on the Profit and Loss (P&L) account of the organization. It is intended that Level 6
evaluation should only be carried out on major Training & Developmentprogrammes to justify the
budgetary expense.

Therefore the LABAs levels of Assessment ad Evaluation would look like

Level 1 Setting Evaluation Criteria

Level 2 Reaction to Learning
Level 3 Assessing that learning has taken place
Level 4 Transfer of Learning into the workplace and coaching the required change of
behavior
Level 5 Business results
Level 6 Calculate the Return on Investment (ROI)

Support
LABA provides support after training completion through 24X7 helpdesk using Phone/E-mail/live-chat
whichever is available at the time of problem. All the nature of problems and solutions are recorded in
our database to give your organization a better and prompt service.
