INSTRUCTION:

1. Each student must choose ONE (1) listed company (on Bursa Malaysia) and obtain/print the
2013 annual report.
2. Each student must choose different company. To fulfill this purpose, students are required to
e-mail the proposed company name to the lecturer before Tuesday (18 February 2014).
Lecturer then may assist in organizing the companies to students.
3. Students are allowed to proceed with the selected company only after they get the approval
from the lecturer.
4. Students are required to submit the assignment in class, on Friday (11 April 2014) during the
fourth meeting.
5. IMPORTANT! :
Students are required to refer to the given ASSIGNMENT GUIDELINE for details.
The assignment must be prepared according to the guideline.

REQUIREMENT:

1. Using the chosen/printed companys annual report, identify/highlight and briefly discuss at
least 10 (TEN) components of the annual report.
(5 Marks)
2. Using the chosen/printed companys annual report, calculate:
a) Horizontal analysis for the Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
(5 Marks)
b) Vertical analysis for the Income Statement and Balance Sheet.
(5 Marks)
c) Current Ratio, Return on Assets, Return on Owners Equity, Inventory Turnover and
Equity Ratio.
(5 Marks)

Students are compulsory to do and submit the individual assignment as required (by the lecturer).

The fonts size and line spacing for text which is prepared in specific format (such as tables,
figures, diagrams, charts, pictures or other illustrations) are adjustable for change according to
suitable view. However, other specifications such as fonts type (Arial) are restricted for any changes.

Students are not allowed to include any content in the Header or Footer which will appear at the top
or bottom of each printed pages. Just leave the Header or Footer blank without any content in it.

The page number should be centre printed at the bottom of each printed
pages.
Students should show the proper title and number for any tables, figures, diagrams, charts, pictures
or other illustrations included in the assignment.

The assignment should include the followings as well:


Table of Content should include the page number for each of the content (including the subtopic).
References list down all of the references used in preparing the assignments. Make sure to
write the references using the APA format.
Appendix enclose the printed 2013 annual report of the approved company and attached in
the assignment as the appendix. Any other related materials used in preparing the assignment
are also required to attach.

The assignment should be properly bind (comb binding) and submitted on time as
required.

Students are required to place the plain transparent plastic as to cover both of the front
and the back page of the assignment.

Marks of the assignment will be awarded for contents, quality, presentation, on time
submission as well as the ORIGINALITY of the assignment.

Students are reminded that academic misconduct is the most serious academic offence.
Students will be penalized for any academic dishonesty such as cheating, copying the assignment
from others, as well as straightly cut/copy and paste from the original source of information.
Once the student is convicted of any of the above offences, penalties may be taken against the
student and NO MARKS will be given for the assignment.

Students are advised to commence the assignment early and discuss with the lecturer for
