A RESOLUTION RECOMMENDING THE OFFICE OF THE PRINCIPAL
OF BARACATAN NATIONAL HIGH SCHOOL, JOCELYN CIMAFRANCA,
FOR THE TRANSFER OF THE INTERNET CONNECTIVITY PROVIDER FROM
AYALA FOUNDATION LED GEARING UP FOR INTERNET LITERACY AND
ACCESS TO STUDENTS (GILAS) TO THE PHILIPINE LONG DISTANCE
TELEPHONE COMPANY (PLDT).
WHEREAS, Internet is a vital part of the education process;
WHEREAS, students and teachers can access unlimited amounts of
information
to broaden their education;
WHEREAS, having internet access in school, there is no limit to what
students can learn;
WHEREAS, Gilas Wireless Project is the internet broadband Provider that
Baracatan National High School is using for the past five (5) years;
WHEREAS, Gilas Internet Provider which uses high-end frequencies carrying
digital information may sometimes affect the continuity of the internet access;
WHEREAS, Gilas Internet Provider oftentimes inflicts a slower broadband
speed and falters in functions especially in bad weather condition;
WHEREAS, the Faculty Club of Baracatan National High School decided to
change internet provider from Gilas Internet Connectivity to PLDT Wireless
Connections for its increased amount of bandwidth delivering unbridled internet
connections;
THEREFORE, RESOLVED AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED that the Office of
the Faculty Club of Baracatan National High School is recommending to the Office of
the Principal of the said school for the transfer/change of the internet provider from
Ayala Foundation-Led Gearing Up for Internet Literacy and Access To Students
(GILAS) to Philippine Long Distance Telephone Company (PLDT) on its Fast Wireless
Internet.
