Upgrades from Series 20 targeted for November 2012
SC200 and SC220 RTS:
The SC200 and SC220 are Dell Compellents next generation expansion enclosures.
Announced on June 12, 2012, the SC200 and SC220 are now available for sale worldwide.
The Dell Compellent SC200 and SC220 are the new expansion enclosures based on Dell
enclosure hardware. The SC200 is a 2U 6Gb SAS enclosure that supports up to twelve (12)
3.5 disk drives. The SC220 is a 2U 6Gb SAS enclosure that supports up to twenty-four (24)
2.5 disk drives.
These new enclosures are compatible with SC8000 and Series 40 controllers; however, at
this time the SC200 and SC220 will not be quotable with Series 40 controllers. We will
monitor the SC8000 transition to the new enclosures and make the decision to allow the
SC200 and SC220 to be quoted with Series 40 controllers by the middle of Q4FY13.

Overview

Enclosure Compatibility:
SC200 and SC220 enclosures are NOT supported on the same chain with legacy
Xyratex enclosures
SC200 and SC220 enclosures and legacy Xyratex enclosures ARE supported on the
same SAS IO card, as long as they are on separate ports, thus a separate chain.
SC8000 Upgrade RTS:

and available to order and ship on June 19, 2012. Upgrades from Series 30 and Series 40
