I started working on offshore drilling rigs in 1995 as a rig electrician in the Gulf of Mexico. I have worked
on many types of oil rigs: barge rigs, jack-ups, submersibles and floaters. In each case I was involved in
the power generation and power distribution aspects of the rig. I have been involved many major
equipment upgrades such as generator sets, air compressor units, SCR units, power transformers, and
high voltage motor change outs.
I went to work in Chad, Africa, from 2002 to 2015 as Chief Electrician over 2 completion land rigs. There
my responsibilities was the electrical maintenance of all power generation and distribution. I was
responsible for 3 electrician helpers on each rig. I was in charge of documenting equipment progress,
maintenance schedules, and down time reports.
My job also included the rig down, mobilization, and rig up of each rig after a completion cycle. This
