CONDOLENCES OF THE PEOPLE AND OFFICIALS OF THE
PROVINCE OF SULTAN KUDARAT TO THE BEREAVED
FAMILY OF THE LATE ANTONIO D. ANGUB, DRAFTSMAN

PROVINCIAL GOVERNMENT OF SULTAN KUDARAT
WHEREAS, the people and officials of the Province of Sultan Kudarat mourn
for the untimely demise of Mr. Antonio D. Angub, Draftsman III, Provincial Engineers
Office, Provincial Government of Sultan Kudarat;
WHEREAS, as Draftsman III, he served the province with utmost dedication,
exemplary service and rendered considerable support most especially to the Provincial
Governor in all his noble undertakings and in the delivery of basic services to the people
of Sultan Kudarat;
WHEREAS, his untimely demise is a great loss not only to his family but to the
people of the province;

WHEREAS, the people and officials of the Province of Sultan Kudarat mourn
for the untimely demise of Engr. Solomon C. Ines, Project Officer I, Provincial
Engineers Office, Provincial Government of Sultan Kudarat;
WHEREAS, as Project Officer I assigned in the Asphalt Mixing Plant, he
served the province with utmost dedication, exemplary service and rendered considerable
support most especially to the Provincial Governor in all his noble undertakings and in
the delivery of basic services to the people of Sultan Kudarat;
WHEREAS, his untimely demise is a great loss not only to his family but to the
people of the province;
RESOLUTION
STRONGLY
ENDORSING
TO
CONGRESS THE PROPOSED CREATION OF SITIO
MARANG INTO A DISTINCT AND SEPARATE
INDIGENOUS BARANGAY IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF
COLUMBIO, SULTAN KUDARAT TO BE KNOWN AS
BARANGAY MARANG.
WHEREAS, the petition of the majority of the indigenous people of Sitio Tudog,
Senator Ninoy Aquino, Sultan Kudarat for the creation of their community into an
independent Indigenous Barangay was referred to the Sangguniang Panlalawigan for
indorsement pursuant to Article 14 (e) of the Rules and Regulations Implementing RA
7160 and Chapter IV, Section 18 of Republic Act 8371, otherwise known as Indigenous
Peoples Rights Act of 1997;
WHEREAS, Article 14 (c) of the Rules and Regulation Implementing the Local
Government Code of 1991, which states that a barangay may be created in the
indigenous cultural communities by Act of Congress upon recommendation of the local
government unit where the cultural community is located;
- page two (2) follows WHEREAS, Sitio Marang in the municipality of Columbio, Sultan Kudarat is
inhabited by indigenous people belonging to the Blaan and Manobo Tribes;
WHEREAS, the passage of a law by Congress creating the Tribal Barangay of
Marang will not only spur development in the countryside but expressly giving our
indigenous people their individual identity, sense of dignity from their own cultures and
the right to exercise their own affairs in accordance with their customary laws and
traditions;
WHEREFORE, on joint sponsorship of all the members present and upon
motion of Hon. Joaquin D. Lim, it was
RESOLVED, as it is hereby resolved, to strongly endorse to Congress the
proposed creation of Sitio Marang into a distinct and separate Indigenous Barangay in the
municipality of Columbio, Sultan Kudarat to be known as Barangay Marang.
RESOLVED FURTHER, to furnish copies of this resolution to the Honorable
Datu Suharto T. Mangudadatu, Al Haj, House of Representatives, Quezon City, for his
information and appropriate sponsorship of House Bill creating Barangay Marang in the
Municipality of Columbio, Sultan Kudarat.
