Evaluation of Liquefaction of Submerged Soils in

Sub Layers Foundation
Under the influence of Earthquakes
Dr. Sobhee Sebai
Geotechnical Civil Eng.
Al Baath University
Abstract
This research illustrates the process of field and laboratory
tests that are used by international seismic researches centers for
evaluating the resistance of submerged soils in sub-layers
foundation due to liquefaction under earthquake, an example was
about field test "Standard Penetration Test Blow Count SPT" to
define the submerged soils of sub layers foundation that are
potential risk to liquefaction under earthquake. Another example
was introduced about laboratory test " Cyclic Undrained Simple
Shear Test" to discuss the method which aids us to carry out the
Cyclic Strength Curve for liquefaction using the Geoslope program.
Results were discussed, and recommendation were introduced.
