Business Unit Overview

Business Analytics & Research (BAR), established in 2006, is a fast-growing, vibrant team within Fidelity
Investments India (that employs 6000 employees) providing three main capabilities: Investment Research,
Database Modelling & Analysis and Customer and Competitive Insights. BA&R hires from top tier institutes and
organizations of the country.
Role Description:

Working on Primary and Secondary research projects, Competitive Intelligence, Market/ Industry
Assessments, Benchmarking Studies and developing subject-matter expertise in research tools,
competencies and databases
Exposure to either all or some of the various techniques of primary research such as customer
satisfaction, segmentation, brand & advertising research, pricing & product related research
Scaling up on knowledge of online databases such as Bloomberg, Factiva, Nexis, OneSource,
Markets.com, Dialog, Thomson One Banker etc.
Analyze using analytical tools, frameworks and methods (competitive benchmarking, SWOT, Five
Forces, Strategic Competitor Profiling etc.)
Knowledge of key analysis/ statistical concepts & hands on experience with tools like SPSS and SAS
Synthesizing large volumes of data into comprehensible and insightful information, and making intelligent
assumptions to estimate not-so-easily available data points. Ability to independently conduct analyses,
insight generation and final report making
Create dashboards (static and interactive) by pulling data from different data sources for presentations

Candidate Description

Strong analytical skills providing insights as well as recommendations for changes convincing decision
makers of business benefits of the proposed solutions
Flair for quantitative data analyses and interpretation and ability to process data to draw insights,
answering so what questions about data
Excellent written and verbal communication skills with specific focus on persuasive, influencing
communication style
Ability to have regular interaction with US partners on understanding business problems and providing
analytical insights to make data-driven decision making.
Prepare informative reports by collecting data, analyzing it, and summarizing into insightful information
The ability to think logically while keeping in mind business and marketing strategies.
Prior Experience in financial services is also valued.

Education and Experience

MBA, or equivalent qualifications from premier schools


0-3 years of prior work experience in measurement or strategic customer analysis area
Understanding of primary research techniques, and known strategic measurement and analysis tools such
as Porters Five Forces, SWOT analysis, Competitive Metrics, Quadrant Analyses such as BCG or GE
matrix etc
Experience on statistical analysis tools like SAS, and interactive dashboard tool like Tableau / QlikView
preferred

Adept in Word, Excel and PowerPoint with special focus on zero-defect
