Singapore dominates in the global clove trade. In 2014, Singapore exported 11
thousand tonnes of love totaling 94 million USD, 2.2 times over the previous
year. Its primary trading partner was Malaysia, where it supplied 55% of its
total love exports in value terms, accounting for the lions share of Malaysias

From 2007 to 2014, Singapore was a net exporter of love. Over this period,
exports consistently exceeded imports in value terms. In physical terms, the
difference was the same.
Brazil and the United Republic of Tanzania were among the other main global
suppliers of love in 2014. However, the fastest growing exporters from 2007
to 2014 were India (+42% per year) and Brazil (+29% per year). Brazil
significantly strengthened its position in the global export structure.
In 2014, Singapores top 5 trading partners were Malaysia, the United Arab
Emirates, Viet Nam, Saudi Arabia and Japan, with a combined 83% share of
Singapores love exports. The share of Malaysia increased significantly (+48
