CHTM19 Major Project Proposal Form

This proposal will serve as an initial basis for discussion with your supervisor and as a start into your
final project. Although you should expect the ideas to be considerably refined over the first few weeks
of term, the supervisor and module leader will need to be satisfied that the proposal constitutes a
manageable project of academic value which can be accomplished in the time available. The project
proposed must normally have elements of literature review and primary data collection and analysis.
You must also choose a subject which is related to your degree programme. Although we will
interpret related as broadly as possible, we may reject a subject title if it does not relate to the aims
and learning outcomes of your programme. Your project supervisor and programme leader will be
able to advise you on this.
This proposal is submitted to the University of Sunderland for final approval, but it is suggest getting
it internally approved by your supervisor first. Make sure your boxes are ticked appropriately!

Title: Investigating the safe tourism for children while travelling.

Rationale: Investigating the safety of children while travelling with the methods that will be used
in terms to gain the safeness while travelling. It could also help and benefits the public for them to
travels without being worried about the safety aspects of their children.

This section focuses on the research methods to be used and sources of data and availability. Be as
specific as possible, but dont reflect on any theoretical issues here, nor include any secondary data
collections.
Research aims and objectives
Aim

Identification on the methods that will be used in terms to get a safe tourism to the tourist.

Evaluating ways to increase confidence to tourists with families to travel without worrying
about the safety aspects of their children.

Objectives

Understanding the methods that need to be practised based on the safety tourism to the
tourists

Ensuring the tourists with families to feel safe while travelling along with.

Total = 100 respondents. (50 international tourists and 50 local tourists)

By using qualitative and quantitative researches.

Questionnaire
- 16 questions with 3 divided sections.
a) Demographic = 5 questions. (open ended)
b) Place of interest = 8 questions. (Multiple choice and Dichotomous)
c) Perception = 3 questions. (Rating Scale)

Observation
- Body language of both local and international.
- Observe the safeness of surrounding and the tourist attitude towards the site.
- Ways the tourists handle their children.
