1749 Freedom makes man a moral subject. When he acts
deliberately, man is, o to speak, the father of his acts. Human acts,
that is, acts that are freely chosen in consequence of a judgement of
conscience, can be morally evaluated. They are either good or evil.

"That in all things God may be glorified St. Benedict

25th Sunday
It's somewhat reassuring to know that
the Lords apostles are often seen in
the Gospels as suffering with those
same faults, failings & weaknesses that
beset us ourselves in our efforts to
follow the Lord!
In this Sunday's Gospel St Mark
depicts them as squabbling as to which
of them was the best. They are
behaving in a rather childish & vain
manner. But by placing an actual child
in front of them Jesus demonstrates
just what the true & authentic attitude
off a Christian needs to be. We are
called to serve Each other with a childlike simplicity of heart. In faith & trust
we are to act with sincerity & without
deceit or dissemblance! Of Such
people is the Kingdom of heaven made
up! Like children, we are invited to
accept & welcome the Good News of
Salvation & pass it in joyfully &
selflessly to others we encounter along
life's way.
although sometimes that can feel like
going against the grain of our adult
cynicism & experiences, the grace of
God - channelled through the Church's
Sacraments - helps us in our desire &
effort to embrace the joy & fresh faith &
hope that children often teach us.
