Pat Johanson – The Yarn Shop by Rainy Day Creations, Inc.

www.knittingincharlotte.com

After growing up sewing and being active in the Embroiders Guild of America including
starting the Peconic Bay Chapter on Long Island, New York, fiber took a back seat in
her life when she became a single mother. That was until Nov. 2004 when she walked
into a small yarn shop in Pineville, NC. A refresher course in knitting by one of the
owners and she was hooked. The yarn industry had come along way and the creativity
of the shop owners left Pat wanting for more. The shop became a weekly hang out for
Pat who never got her fill of being there. A move to a larger location in 2005 allowed
the shop to expand into rigid heddle weaving which Pat quickly became passionate
about. In 2008 she became a co-owner and the shop has been through another
expansion and now includes spinning.

At the retreat, The Yarn Shop will be offering a selection of yarns and looms available
for purchase. If you have a special request, we’ll see if we can bring it with us.
