Position Announcement

Communications Fellow
The Fellowship:
This Fall, the Posner Center for International Development is launching our first Fellowship program. As a Fellow, youll work
in a team right alongside Posner staff, helping us meet our loftiest goals and also address our most basic needsafter all,
when the coffee machine breaks, so does everything else. A Posner Fellowship is a longer commitment, lasting at least eight
months (or the course of your school year) where youll be at the center of the hub of development activity in the Rocky
Mountain region. A fellowship provides a tremendous opportunity to connect with our Tenants and Members and a unique
chance to be a part of our team working to be the leader of collaborative international development.

A community of innovators who grow lasting solutions to global poverty through collaborative international
development;

A dynamic network that brings together 60+ Tenants and another 100+ Members, working in over 100 countries
worldwide on issues across a wide spectrum of international development issues;

Located in one gorgeous 25,000 square-foot shared space in downtown Denver;


An organization continually striving to live out our values (collaboration, entrepreneurship, impact, education,
diversity, and innovation) in all that we do, including our staffing decisions; and,

Determined to create sustainable change by being the leader in collaborative international development.
You Are:
Someone with a proven track record in communications and/or marketing, at least as an intern;
Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage time and work effectively without close supervision;
An individual with excellent organizational, writing, verbal, and presentation skills;
Someone who not only believes the magic is in the details, but takes the initiative to help us make our own
processes better (read: someone who has a keen sense of creativity, even when it comes to admin tasks);

Preferably, someone with experience working in international development or related fields, and someone with an
interest in shared spaces, social enterprise and/or non-profit work.

Someone with grad school experience, or the seasoned writing and communications skills of one, even if you dont
possess the degree.
The responsibilities of our Communications Fellow will include, but are not limited to:

Editing our 2015 social media plan in order to finalize a plan for 2016, while updating and encouraging lively
dialogue and interaction on Posners social media networks based on this years plan;

Pulling together data gathered by our M&E Fellow to help tell a compelling and cohesive story for the
2016 Posner Center annual report, along with our Community Animator;

Updating the Posner Center website, when necessary, including maintaining the Posner Resources page, as well
as our Vimeo account;

Helping to pull together information that will go in Posners monthly Tenant newsletter, the Community Connector;
Monitoring/tracking all social media (including newsletter through MailChimp), & report on progress over time
through Google Analytics and other data sources; and,

Working with the development team to strategize and implement a variety of communications to elicit new
supporters and community partners.

Length of Engagement and Time Commitment:


A commitment through May 2015 is required. Fellows are expected to spend a minimum of 10 hours per week at the
Posner Center.

Fellows are not financially compensated. However, here are some of the benefits you can expect from this position:
