There are two reasons why I dont trust people, first, I know them, and second, I dont know
them.
--PERSONALITY
Evaine is usually the silent type who prefers to sit back, observe carefully, and interfere only
when she is completely confident of her actions. She may come out as shy, not being the one
to approach people, yet thats not the case.
Eva has a warm and friendly aura yet when she dislikes someone, she can make it pretty
obvious, not caring for diplomacy anymore. If provoked, Evaine often surprises herself by
just how bitter and vindictive she can get, but fortunately, she is disciplined enough to control
herself. Shes not afraid to speak her mind, being extremely confident in her own skills and
also very independent. Shes not the one to ask for help, even if needed, and not because of
pride, but due to the fact that she doesnt want to be a burden to anyone.

It is not difficult to befriend with Evaine, usually one act of kindness will open her interests
towards a person, and from that point on, she will become more eager to help/chat/join them
on various occasions. She gets easily attached and thus, fooled, much to her dislike, reason
why she carefully choses her friends. Even with all of her care and cautiousness, Eva still
refuses to open up, still keeping a lot of things to herself, including anything related to her
family, to a point that some consider that shes actually an orphan. Overall, shes a caring and
loyal friend, although its difficult to see this at first. But truth to be told, her cold shell is just
a faade she likes to keep. Due to her family issues, Eva doesnt like to judge anyone by
appearance, blood, house, skills, basically anything, and will never let her opinions be
influenced by sheer rumours, reason why she rarely rejects or judges people, being an easy
person to approach or talk to about anything at any hour. Although quiet, Evaine loves
intelligent conversation from which she can learn or debate opinions.
When it comes to her academic performances, Evaine is a perfectionist, but of course, she
cant keep up with some students (Hermione, Draco), reason why shes most of the time
disappointed in herself. Towards the professors, shes extremely polite, although she doesnt
always agree with all of them she tends to keep quiet in order to not cost her house points.
Shes extremely ambitious and determinate, and nothing ticks her off more than when people
look down on her capacities and potential.

--LIFE HISTORY
Evaines father comes from a long, respected pure-blood family but when he fell in love and
decided to settle with a muggle woman, he was outcast and had to take on his wifes last
name. He was never the man to let himself ruled by prejudices, trait which he passed on to his
only daughter, alongside with the shame of having the family blood stained. Eva is not
comfortable talking about her family relationships, as she never actually met anyone except
her parents who raised her and whom she loves greatly. Being rejected by her family left
Evaine with a low-self-esteem but throughout the years, she grew out of it, with a raising
desire of proving herself.
Having a muggle mother, she grew up in their world, without the knowledge of her abilities.
They started to manifest in her early childhood, as flowers would come back to life at her
touch. Things started to get worse once she began school, being bullied for the weird
accidents which always had her involved. At this point, her father had to tell her the truth,
which came quite as a bit of a shock for her poor mother.

--FACTS

; her favourite hobby since childhood is herb gathering, something she got from her mother.
At first she just started to collect pretty flowers, then she began keeping illustrated journals of
flowers from everywhere she went, then she began studying their various properties and often
self-medicaments herself with tea and plant based crmes made by herself. Things took a
different turn when she started studying potions at Hogwards and now has an entire shelf full
of vials of plants gathered from everywhere.

; Evaine loves accessories like rings, necklaces, bracelets etc. She is always seeing wearing a
lot, especially crystals, her favourite being the amethyst.

; Eva is very fond of making gifts, especially handmade-gifts. She likes to craft everything
she gives: letters, necklaces, paintings, dolls, perfumes, all kind of things. Evaine is very
meticulous and likes to offer things which she hopes people will keep in her memory.

; Evaine is a picky eater. She is both obsessed with eating healthy and also not very fond of
the English cuisine, having a hard time adapting to the new environment. While other kids
receive sweets and treats through mail, Evas mother is forced to send her food that shell eat.
During the feasts, shes seeing nibbling a thing or too, but never fully eating.

; Her mother was keen on sending Eva at the Beauxbaton Academy of Magic due to the fact
that it was closer to home and well overall more feminine. With all of these, both mother
and father allowed the girl to decide where she wanted to go and Eva chose Hogwards as she
found the institution more oportunistic than Beauxbaton.

; Since shes a foreigner, Evas English has a slight romanic accent and was at first teased by
her fellow students. In time she grew not to be bothered by it.

; Being raised in a muggle enviorement, Evaine prefers it over the wizard world. She spends
all her holydays at home, and prefers not to have to deal with magic during those periods. Not
that she doesnt like the weird magic things, its just that she doesnt like surprises very much
(aka, weird tasting foods, being teleported by accident, dangerous books and toys etc).

; But that doesnt mean she dislikes magic, quite the contrary. If there is a reason why shes a
loner, its because she spends most of her time practicing her spells and reading. Since youth,
she was fascinated by fairy tales, and the knowledge of existing creatures pushes her limits to
the point in which she ignores fear. For example, the only time when she wanted to simply
punch Draco in the face was when he ruined the hippogriff lesson, and another example is
when she wished she had been part of the goblet of fire challenges just to witness merpeople,
regardless if her life was in danger. Dragons are the only creatures which dont tickle her
interests since shes quite bored of them.

Ambition/Life-long Dream: Although she enjoys the muggle world, Evaine has little to no
interest to continue her life in it. She wishes for her future to be involved in the wizard world.
She still hasnt decided exactly what she will do but she hopes that somehow she will help

people. The idea of being a professor or an herbal witch has caught her interest yet shes still
unsure. But what shes sure of is that she wants to make her parents proud, especially her
father.

A small fox. She learned it from her father and decided not to register; not because of her
edgy personality, but just in case one day she will have to face darker days. Her fur displays

different shades of red, sometimes intense sometimes lighter. It depends on Evaines current
hair shade, since she changes it once in a while.

Quidditch: She doesnt play since flying is not one of her best. Plus shes extremely scared
of getting hit by the balls. Yet Eva attends every game which involves the Slytherin house.

--SKILLS
Strengths: Herbology, Potions, Divination (probably the only one truly interested in this
class. Eva finds it very easy to see the symbols and loves to interpret them.)

--FAMILY
- Abel Riedel: Evaines father. Hes the middle son of the Riedel family and always had to
work hard in order to impress his family. He attended Durmstrang Institute (like all boys in
the family) and graduated with a lot of praise, being extremely successful in his magic, yet
his love for a muggle woman seemed to have cut off his wings. Although his family strongly
disagreed with her, Abel had no choice since his daughter had already been born. Currently
he lives as a muggle since his family no longer offers him any kind of privilege, and hopes
that his daughter will not have to suffer too much because of his actions. Not few are the
times when he pushes Eva to keep on practicing, even in her holydays, offering her extra help
with her school work.

-Juliet Cyndol: Evas mother. The truth about her husband and daughter was the most
difficult thing to overcome but in the end, she managed to succeed and now is very fascinated
by their world. She supports her daughter although doesnt exactly understand how things
work in the wizard world. Juliet is not fond of Hogwards, finding it a dangerous institute for
her daughter (since all the bad things seem to happen only there <.<) and wished that she had
chosen Beauxbatons instead.
-The rest of the Riedel family: They have no interest in Abels life and dont even know his
daughters name. They are extremely frustrated that someone with his potential threw aside
everything for a muggle and completely cut him off.
Pet: A stray cat which found comfort in their family. Her name is Mayu and eventually Eva
took it with her at Hogwards.

--OTHER RELATIONSHIPS-Best Friend(s): Luna Lovegood

Evaine adores spending time with Luna just because she is strange. Although her beliefs are
sometimes silly, Eva just likes to listen and try her imagination. She also admires her style
and learned to discipline herself, seeing how Luna is teased for her behaviour. Sometimes she
wants to defend her friend and lets out a sharp comment or two, a part of her not being afraid
to let out her claws but her friend always interrupts and pulls her back.
Overall, theres a mutual acceptance and admiration between the two, and it didnt took long
enough for trust to build. Although after years, Evaine confessed a few things or two about
her family to Luna, and seeing how there was no big deal, it helped Eva raise her confidence.
Since both girls have close birthdays, Eva crafted a lot of twin charms and necklaces for her
and Luna which they both like to wear, although it results in more teasing, like Loony and
the Savage.
Friend(s): Evaine is not fond of her Slytherin comrades but that doesnt mean she doesnt get
along with them since after all, the sorting hat placed her in her house for a reason. She
believes in this fraternity which is built in the house and will never tell on a fellow Sytherin,
even if its someone she cant stand. Shes clever and diplomatic when she needs certain
things and can play the nice girl in certain situations but this doesnt mean friendship to her.
Other people she gets along pretty well with are Neville Longbottom, as they both have a
passion for Herbology, and Miles Bletchley, who she asked for help since she couldnt pass
her flying lessons.

Love interest: Draco Malfoy and this is very problematic for Eva. She is very aware of the
fact that hes difficult, proud, stubborn and not the most likable person around but a part of
her is attracted to his wealth, status, name and well everything she deserved and was
stripped because of her mother. At first it was simple jealousy and anger since she wasnt the
highest on his preference list but as she grew, she began finding him attractive until she began
finding good things in him, like his cleverness, intelligence (sometimes) good intentions and
one thing led to another. Evaine is surprisingly tolerant of his actions but she gets extremely
hurt by his mean comments, even if she doesnt let him see. Another thing she dislikes at him
is his friends, especially Crabble and Goyle. In her first year she was quite terrified by the
two, since she is a petite girl, but in time, she just couldnt understand what Draco was
finding so entertaining in those two gorillas. As for Pansy Parkinson, Evaine cant stand her
(for obvious reasons). Sometimes she gets jealous while other times she becomes hurt. Her
constant failures on approaching Draco made her decide that he was doing more harm than
good and decided to put an end to it, although its easier said than done.

|| L O O K S A N D A P P E A R A N C E ||
Hair (colour and style): Her natural hair colour is brown (as seen in the pictures above) but
she is rarely seen brown haired (mostly at home during summer breaks) since she uses
diverse kinds of herb mixtures to dye it either blood red either a softer shade of orange.
Usually Eva wears it loose, with a few accessories in it, like a flower or a few braided strains
but ties it up in a ponytail or bun during class since its pretty long and it gets uncomfortable
during subjects like potions.

Eyes: green

Body type (scrawny, curvy, chunky, etc.): In her first years Evaine was pretty normal,
having an average body, but in her last years she slimmed down and combined with her short
height, she has a very petite and fragile appearance.

Tattoo/piercing/other: Her ears have multiple piercings and her hands have specific tattoos.

Outfit: Normally, she would wear the standard Hogwards uniform, always clean and tidy,
and in the common room a simple tank-top and pj pants. The first picture below is the Yule
Ball dress and the rest are casual clothes she wears both in the muggle world as in the wizard
one. She enjoys wearing supersized sweaters/tops but will also be seen wearing a lot of
dressess and girly accesories.

Makeup: Evaines make-up is not outstanding but its not absent either. Shes always seen
with simple black eyeliner and either red or black nail polish on. Rarely she would put on red
lipstick but thats in her later years.
Scent: Sweet and floral (perfumes made by herself).
