Nurturing the soul:

“Nurturing the soul is an analytical process of listening and acting upon what
the soul demands.” Dr. Scott Haasarud
It is the process of embracing the demands of the soul by individuals who are
driven by inner necessity. It is to regain the harmony of mind, body and spirit.
Strategies:
Thoughts create reality-Change thoughts, change life:
Our mind is a powerful tool; we sometimes create our own problems. If we tell
ourselves that we are unhappy then we will be unhappy. The only way through
which we can change our life is to change the way we think.
The stress we feel because of our problems eventually begins to affect our bodies
and the way we function. This in turn leads to feelings of demoralization and
sunken spirits. So in order to nurture our soul we need to change our outlook on
life and improve our overall situation. The soul is just our subconscious and
things that creep into the subconscious stay there, eating away at our defenses.
Therefore use the power of positive thinking as faith healing. So by changing
thoughts we would be able to change our life. And more positive thoughts would
lead to pleasing outcome.
“The joy of being is the joy of being conscious.” Eckhart Tolle
One way of achieving this is to make some rituals part of our daily routine.
Setting quiet time aside for our soul daily would both refreshes and empowers us.
Experiment with meditation and visualizations. We can journal our thoughts,
feelings, and blessings. Use music to affect our mood, energy and creative output.
Moreover make time and space for personal expression every day.
Make connections with others:
Humans want to feel a sense of connection and a sense of purpose to life. Meeting
other people and socializing is one way. But we are also driven by our desire to
become self actualized. Thus by helping others whether through charity or just
minor acts of kindness we would feel closer to other people and generally would
learn to appreciate life more. Because what is good for our community is good for
each of us, there is a way in which giving comes back to benefit the giver.
Humans’ motivation to give is also rooted in their desire to find meaning through
community. We can give to satisfy our desire for meaning; to nurture our soul.
Effect:
Soul starvation makes people bitter, needy, angry and resentful. Therefore by
nurturing the soul one learns to create more joy in their life. By using the above
mentioned strategies one would found oneself in a more joyful state. One would
become a lover of life. Living life with such exuberance would put one in a
heightened state of consciousness. One would operate with higher level of
vibrational frequency that is would become more aware of their thoughts,
feelings, actions and emotions. They would have a more positive approach
towards life, look for the best in any situation, appreciate the small things in life
and have an open heart and door for everyone. Also when nurtured people would
come in contact with others then their spirits would be lifted too; they would
become infected by their positive energy.
